Pak-Man

I think Incredibly Strange Creatures is the baseline for how bad a movie can be while still being able to be saved by really great riffing. I don't think there's ever been a worse movie that I can still actually enjoy watching with the aid of riffing. Unless it's a Birdemic/Room situation where there's something inherently entertaining about how the movie is awful.

Beautiful spring day here today, but snow not totally melted yet and yard far too wet and mushy to do much there, so after taking the dogs for a walk I opened up all of the windows and kegged my last 2 batches of homebrew and brewed my next 2 batches. Pluto TV on in the background. Caught most of Moon Zero Two, Last of the Wild Horses, and The Pumaman.
Moon Zero Two was really one of the better looking movies from a movie print quality standpoint that was featured on the original run. But it's a rather lackluster episode even for Season 1.
Last of the Wild Horses is great for the mads being on the SOL and riffing and evil parallel universe Mike and the bots, but boring by the numbers western for a movie.
Pumaman great. Not necessarily on my list of top favorites, but it would be in the top 30.

Iron Curtain

On the airplane back to the US from Japan, I watched The Touch Of Satan which I had downloaded on Netflix. This is where the fish sleeps...

Iron Curtain

Gamera vs. Zigra. This was so much like a parody of a Gamera movie that it was so unintentionally hilarious yet painful to see how far they got from the high quality of the first one.

Village of the Giants
Definitely one of my favorite episodes. Movie kind of a comedy so it could have not worked. So much better than the similar in tone Catalina Caper.

The Beau Bridges jokes alone would have made it worthwhile, but everything else was awesome in that one. Definitely a 10 for me.

Just got around to watching Star Crash and noticed they edited out a couple of lines. In the original version Stella realizes that one of Akton's powers is the ability to see the future and asks why he didn't tell her he could do it. He replies "Because you would have used that to change the future, and that's against the law." It was a really dumb line I was sure could have been the source of a few good riffs, but it is edited out of the episode, apparently so they could make a bunch of Akton is a know-it-all riffs which would not have work if it was established the character had psychic powers.  It is not as if they needed to edit it out for time as they kept in a lot of the drawn out walking scenes, space ships traveling across the screen for way too long, and other padding that could have been cut.

403 City Lights
I really didn't enjoy this episode when I watched it last when the DVD came out, primarily because I found it impossible to understand what was going on in the movie.
I found the movie just as incomprehensible this time, but enjoyed the riffing and Mike's Morrisey impersonation a lot more this time.

City Limits*
Found it interesting that Rae Dawn Chong loved the episode and hadn't seen the movie till the episode came out.  Apparently, it was referred to as "Shitty Limits" by some of the cast.

It's funny you mention this movie, because Kim Catrall mentioned Crow's ode to her in the first host segment as getting herself out of a suicidal funk during an intro she did to a The Mads Are Back event at a local Alamo Drafthouse event in Brooklyn, NY.

812 - The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies
One of the episodes that seems to be on Pluto TV a lot and once again I had it more on more as background noise as I was working on other things around the house this afternoon. I always remember the movie as being incomprehensible nonsense, but man, I laughed a lot at the riffs I caught (mostly riffs on the music throughout). Going to have to watch it sometime soon at a time when it will have my full attention.

Space Mutiny on Netflix. I was in the minority who didn't like this episode when I first saw it, but I guess it's growing on me...
