MartyS (Gromit)

People Soup, and Six Murderous Beliefs

2 kickstarter rewards shorts.

People Soup was nominated for an Academy Award, man, there must not have been very many shorts made that year....  Also looking it up it Alan Arkin wrote some short stories in the 50s that got published, and this was one of them.

Deadly Instincts aka Breeders (a much better title for this mess)

Great riffing and writing! I think this is Bridget and MJ's best to date. And the movie is a blast too. Because nipples, Boston Oil, inappropriate relationships, a strangely empty city, Ashley!, and what did happen to...what was her name?

Highly recommended.

"Is that what you're not wearing tonight?"

Harry the Dirty Dog. I don't currently own a dog, but I've always had a soft spot for puppies, so even though I know these shorts are being poked fun at, I still thought it was excellently made. What makes me sad is that Jake(Who portrayed Harry) is without a doubt no longer around.  :(

OBLIVION - Dear God this movie is so BORING! They really did just make a western, complete with every bad western cliche. In fact, the only thing they stole from something else was the frog creature's "he who knows fear burns at the touch of the Mondane" which is a blatant ripoff from Man-Thing. Which they didn't even use when the frog bit the guy.

The riff was pretty funny, though.

Abe's goth brother, Morrisey Lincoln.

Drunk George Tekei is voiced by Sylvester Stallone.

Uh oh, Mr. Babadook's dad is here.

Just watched some more shorts I just bought from Rifftrax, including:
Farm Family in Winter
Farm Family in Autumn
Farm Family in Spring
Let's Talk Turkey
The Calendar and how to use it
The Hothead and the forgetter

They were all riffed pretty well but I liked "The Calendar and how to use it" the most because it's just SOOO 80's... it... was from the 80's, right? That's also what I really liked about "Flash that smile". While I'm on the subject, I'd like to thank Mary Jo and Bridget for making a Duran Duran joke in that short.

Okay so just bought three new Rifftrax shorts:
The Tiny Astronaut
Nobody tells me what to do
Don't get angry

Not sure what the purpose of The Tiny Astronaut was, me thinks it was something sponsored by animal rights activists or something. Nobody tells me what to do obviously takes place in the 1980's and tells the story of some kids who constantly get in trouble for having the aforementioned attitude. I guess it does have kind of a good lesson in it but... it doesn't have much in the way of a satisfactory wrap up to the whole story. I guess the producers just thought the lesson would just be kind of self-evident, and it is... to a degree.
Don't get angry... well this one looks like it came straight out of the 1950's and is much more focused on having a relevant lesson: don't get angry!

Goddammit, this movie was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!!! Well, to be perfectly frank, the movie was terrible, but so riffable that with the riffs it was extremely entertaining. This is up there with "The Room (2016 Live Riff)", "The Wizard", and "Mothra" as one of Rifftrax's best. If MST3K had done this, it would have been a classic that was up there with Pod People and The Final Sacrifice.

This riff was as perfect as it gets for me. I mean for rifftrax or MST. easily a Top 10 of all time.

Me too. It doesn't get mentioned enough, but it's my personal favorite.

Speaking of which, have you ever gone someplace announcing that your name is Captain Coldiron? And then someone says "oh yeah, like that villain from The Flash"

I love me some ROTOR as well. The Rifftrax version is available on Amazon Prime. It's a movie that doesn't know whether it is serious or a parody (reading into the background there was some disagreement on that point.) Definitely a top 5 Rifftrax for me.

Patriotism, but I can't remember which movie Mike years later used the quote:
"If we learn to care for others, to respect others we'll learn how to care for, to respect our country."

It's so familiar as I have the twitch stream running all day....

Finally watched Boy in the Plastic Bubble. It really felt like an after school special that wasn't special at all. Although even I noticed the female lead's rack was, well it was pretty damn perfect IMO.

And I can't believe there were no Throw Momma From the Train, or at least Goonies, jokes when Anne Ramsey showed up as Travolta's nurse. Come on, she was an Academy award nominee.  :)

Just watched Ruby on Amazon Prime.
