Awesome!  With the backlit pic it definitely looks ready for take-off, as if in the early morning Cape Kennedy sun. :)

My knowledge of rockets is admittedly very limited. I can say it looks amazing though.

I just saw that Lego has a set of this tonight when I was at Barnes & Noble.  Thought of Marty!

Made some decals for the clear parts, painted white first for the flag and the "III" markings.
Odd effect that the flag over clear looks smaller, but it's the same size.
There is still one mistake on the model that I thought about correcting but don't think I'm going to, the corrugation on the instrument ring, it's supposed to be smooth, but it would be a lot of work to sand it down and too high a chance of messing up and not having a smooth round part.

I just watched a Tested.com video of them building that kit.  1969 pieces.  I remember seeing it pop up in my searches when I was looking at different kits.

Did Barnes & Nobel have some in stock?  It's out of stock just about everywhere online, people are selling them on Ebay for 2X the list price, well they are asking for 2X but don't know if they are selling any.

I wanted the most accurate looking large model, so didn't consider it, but it looks like it would be a fun build.

It did when we were there, but it was a while ago. I'll see if it's still there next time we go (which may be some time, we're about to travel).

Wonder how much they had to jigger the build so that the number of pieces would exactly match the year the original was used (for Apollo 11, at least)?

From what I read when they were done and saw the number was a little high they only had to combine a handful of pieces into larger ones do it.

This is going to take a while to build, 22 inch long Eagle from Space 1999:

Are you going to mix in pieces of the Batmobile with it for a truly unusual mash-up?  :)

;D

I ordered the 2 models at the same time, been thinking about the big Eagle kit since it came out (2 years ago?) but didn't have room or the proper tools to build it well in my apartment, and when Adam West passed away I was thinking about the show.  Last time I built a car model was when I was a little kid, when Batman was on a lot in reruns in the early 70s, so thought it would be a double blast from the past for me.

Got the front pod mostly done, and it's probably the easiest part of the model to build, so it's probably going to take another month at least to get the rest mostly done.

Got some more done, it's funny how many NASA model parts were used as greeblies on the Eagle.

Lunar landers used on the top, but the real model only used 2, the one on the bottom right and the one on the top right but on the 44 inch first year model it was on the left.  As the show went along they added more random stuff to those areas and lost the LEMs.

The round flat things on the landing gear pods are from a Saturn V model, when they made the winch used to lift the nuclear waste canisters a lot of it was Saturn V tanks and parts.

And the pilots inside the model were Gemini astronauts.
