That's quite an impressive haul, even if it is Star Wars.

I wonder if the Target bonus disc is different from the Best Buy bonus disc?  The studios have pulled that kind of crap before, if you want all the bonus materials you've got to buy multiple copies of the movie...

The Target exclusive set I got on my way to work might be "exclusive" because of the packaging, it's supposed to have different covers you can change out.

I'll be watching it tonight, and tomorrow the physics club at work will be using my disc to watch it on the theater in the communications studies building, not sure if I'll watch it with them.  The screen is big but even though it uses 2 projectors it's not the sharpest image.

It's not being sold by amazon (only by third parties). I guess amazon and disney are having a dispute over blu-ray profits.

I wasn't aware there was different Bonus discs :o

That would still be pretty cool to see it on a big screen like that.

Just looked it up and the Target set has a 5th disc with stuff exclusive for Target, the set I got was the one with the 3D Blu-Ray, although from what I've heard from people that saw it in the theaters in 3D the 3D wasn't as good as The Force Awakens.

I've seen The Martian and The Arrival on that screen and it was nice, just a little more detail and better color at home.  The sound system is impressive, perforated screen with speakers behind it so it does sound great.  Not sure the surround sound is set up completely, I get more sound from the back of my system, but it could be because it's set up for the entire theater while at home mine is set up for the one seat.

I guess after I watch it tonight I'll know if I want to see it again so soon.

Just watched the 3D blu-ray, probably won't watch it in 3D again, the only good 3D scenes were when the star destroyers were on screen.  A lot of the movie is dark and that doesn't work well for 3D.

As for the movie, damn that was good, I'll have to see it a few more times to see if it holds up.

Do we still need spoilers at this late date?  I guess to be safe:

I loved seeing Gold and Red Leaders. Thought it made sense.

I also liked seeing them, I suppose you have to believe that they were the best pilots so they managed to get away and survive to come back in the next movie (40 years ago.  ;D ).

Darth Geek

Yeah, that was a nice touch. And they didn't use Porkins, which would have been too much of a giveaway.

I thought those robotic tape storage vaults were a thing of the past but I just read that Amazon has several of them for their Glacier service, for $0.004 per gigabyte per month you can store your files on them, retrieval times are slow, if you want one of your files you submit a request and go into the retrieval cue and it can take a few hours for your file to become available.

For those wondering, I was searching around for a 3D copy, and apparently depending on where you go, you get different stuff.

Amazon nets you NO specials that the others don't give, and they don't sell a 3D version.

Target has their bonus disc with the different covers, as well as the 3D version included.

Best Buy has the steelbook with some different bonus stuff and a sweet looking cover, but it also has the 3D copy.

Digital copies come with the bonus features from the basic Amazon disc, but that's about it.

Ordering from Disney directly gives the same copy as Amazon, but with some exclusive lithographs or something.  Just little chotchke collectibles.

4K is currently not available from any dealer, as far as I know.
One Man Band Riffs.  18 riffs, over 600 served, since 2009.

Watched it on the big screen at work, glad I did, and I noticed the rebel ships that made it to hyperspace this time, so that explains how those guys survived to fight again.
