I receive this news with mixed emotions.  On the one hand, almost every movie he's made is a wretched, nonsensical abomination, with several of them damn near unwatchable.  On the other hand, hearing that the reason he's leaving is that DVD and Blu-ray sales are drying up and he can't make any money that way makes it seem like an era is ending, in some ways.  Sending your low-budget movie on the digital circuit doesn't seem quite as cool as having a disc in your hand to sell at a convention.  If Uwe Boll can't do it anymore, as notorious as he is...well, it's not impossible for more talented people to succeed, but it's definitely a closing avenue, now.

Lotta fun memories seeing Uwe Boll movies with my friends, lots of his movies are entertaining. House of the Dead, Bloodrayne 1-3, In The Name of the King (one of the most quotable b-movies), FarCry, Postal, the Rampage movies, oddly enough he is one of the more watchable low budget film makers, hilarious as that may be.

Maybe someday he'll get an Ed Wood (or maybe more of a Raging Bull) biopic. And that said, there are Uwe Boll movies I've avoided because they looked dull.

Saw House of the Dead and In The Name of The King in theaters by the way, wide release. Funny to think.
