Know what? All the nerd backlash out there on the book of faces is making me wanna dig my heels in even further. I will now refuse to be convinced that this movie will be bad. Not only that, but I'm gonna drag my Star-Wars-Episode-1-Lovin' stubbornness into this movie and come out thinking it's one of the best things I've ever seen. As long as it is possible to enjoy this movie, I shall enjoy it! Try an' stop me!

Yeah. Tongue is firmly in cheek, there. Seriously, if it's actually bad, I'll admit it. Don't feel like spending the next few months actively dreading it, though, and I'm genuinely really hard to disappoint movie-wise (You've all probably heard me step in with the, "Well it wasn't THAT bad" more than once), Might as well at least PLAN to have a good time. It's not like it's gonna be any different a movie if I get all mopey about it, and I firmly believe that attitude is half the journey. If you go into a movie having already decided you're not going to enjoy it, you're not going to enjoy it. Why do that to yourself?

I'm with you, I'm still cautiously optimistic. The Leslie Jones stuff is the only genuinely bad stuff in the trailer, and that isn't enough to judge a whole performance (especially since marketing has to choose the soundbitiest parts to put in the trailer anyway).
I will say I'm already in love with Kate McKinnon. She seems to be playing the Egon role, who was always my favorite, and she is the sexiest looking one (to me). Plus her hat joke was the best joke in the trailer.

While the look of the ghosts is a bit odd, I appreciate that they are very colorful. This could have had the dull gray look that a lot of blockbusters have nowadays.

First... lol at all this consternation over a friggin trailer.

Second... The only thing that made the first movie worth a shit was Bill Murray at the very apex of his Bill Murray powers.

The sequel sucked because Bill Murray was sidelined. This remake will suck because Bill Murray is like 70 years old and has no desire to fan service a bunch of 45 year old Ghostbuster fans.

I've got a boxed set of The Real Ghostbusters that says that the concept can be funny and engaging without Bill Murray.
