The Lurker

I think part problem with the Fantastic Four is that despite the family dynamic, the members have a tendency to come across as really unlikeable.

Pak-Man

Well The Thing is lovable, but Reed's distant over-analytical sciencey schtick, and Human Torch's douchiness, and Sue Storm's kinda-there-ness are tough to sell.

I've actually never read their comic. I only know them through crossovers. Is there a legendary Fantastic Four arc that really sells what the comic is all about?

The Lurker

Reed seems to be rather irresponsible at times, even in scientific stuff.

Maybe he has a tendency to blur the line between curiosity and recklessness.

The comic is at its best at its beinging. If you have Marvel Unlimited read the first 40 odd issues, they are a ton of fun.

Mark Waid's run is supposed to be pretty great too.  Oh, and those he mentioned the first forty issues, that doesn't include the coming of Galactus and right afterwards, there's "This Man, This Monster" which is sort of the best Thing story to not really feature too much of the Thing.

MrTorso

anyone actually seen it yet?  I saw it Friday and while it wasn't very good, I expected way worse. The biggest problem I have is that it is all set up with a 10 minute film at the end.  Too much origin story.

I ain't giving it any money.

It's not like this is Michael Bay. This is Fox and Josh Trank, neither of them have earned boycott status in my opinion.

Plus, if it still bothers you, buy a ticket for M:I-5 or The Gift then sneak in to Fantfourstic.

Is there more than one media company called Fox? Because the one I know about is pretty shit.

They've done all the X-Men movies, the last few in particular have been pretty good. And they are doing the Deadpool movie that looks good so far.

Saw it last night, it was okay.  Just patchy and probably too dialogue heavy
