The Relaxed Wife + Consuming Women
Short film · 2015

A devoted wife teaches relaxation techniques until the narrator prescribes Atarax, plus a bonus short proving that yes, women can legally buy things.

With Bridget Nelson, Mary Jo Pehl

The Relaxed Wife

"Today, medical science recognizes, that some folks aren't helped by relaxing exercises. In cases of difficult tension, and nervous apprehension, doctors are now prescribing an ataraxic medicine. It makes those who fear they're about to quit, feel like they're ready to begin, bidding their darkened spirits goodbye, for the calming peace of a cloudless sky. Of all the states throughout this nation, the happiest by far is the state of relaxation. There'll be fewer breakdowns and insomniacs, when more of us have learned to be relaxed. We'll be free to relish the joys of life, no longer tense over daily worries and strife."

A devoted wife teaches her husband the importance of relaxation only to have the narrator prescribe him Atarax.

Bridget and Mary Jo do their very best to go limp all over by flip flopping their hands and drinking coffee. Sit back and relax as they Riff this important message from the fine folks at Pfizer's.

AND... Just for relaxing you will receive this free mini short absolutely free:

Consuming Women (Women as Consumers)

Today's Woman. She buys stuff. She buys stuff in a groovy way. If more merchants knew this simple fact then they would understand that they should sell things to woman. This short film teaches them that YES, women are in fact consumers and can, by law, be sold things they want to buy.

Um.. The Relaxed Wife is 13:44 (which is fine) but Consuming Women is only 3:47 ...
Why charge an extra Dollar for a short that's only 3 minutes and 47 seconds long ???

But together they are over 15 minutes and that is the normal price for "long" shorts.  Why they didn't edit the files together? I don't know. It is really going to irk my OCD having two different files with the same poster.....

Oh hadn't thought about that :o

Different files because of different framerates (due to reasons I won't disclose, we purposely decided not to convert them to the same) and we didn't want you to have to scrub through one short to see the other on the dload.

(The streaming one is combined and is 17:04 mins)

Edit: And it's good to come out of your comfort zone. re: Two file OCD. :) If you must, categorize them as [Short Number] A & B - because they are not separate products.
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

Speaking of OCD, the short title is "Consuming Women" on the site, but Mary Jo and Bridget clearly call it "Consuming WOMAN".  What gives?

Ah, just as I suspected, this little Rifftrax "small, independent" company is in the pockets of the Framerate Syndicate.

Does anyone else notice the really odd sound quality in The Relaxed Wife or is it just mine???  And that includes the Rifftrax music hook took.... Sounds really badly compressed.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Are you tense? Anxious? Worried? (Ugly...)  LOL.   It doesn't sound strange to me. But, there are a couple places where  I wish the ladies' voices were a touch louder.

I understand the ladies were watching their figures so they only consumed the one woman.
