Thought I'd share the view to my right when I'm in the recliner watching TV.
It's been in that spot since last summer but it just occurred to me it would make a nice photo:
Spoiler
Coming up on 1 year since I ordered the kit...

That is SUPERB!

To my left as I watch TV are silhouettes of Neytiri, Karloff's Ardath Bey (lifesize bust), and the Creature From the Black Lagoon (all 3 from Sideshow Collectibles); and on my large front speakers, so much harder to see since they only have very indirect lighting on them: Perry the Platypus on the left speaker, and on the right speaker a lifesize bust of Karloff as the creature from Frankenstein.  But I didn't make any of them... so not quite the same level of satisfaction I imagine yours gives.
To dispel some of the misconceptions about head injuries you have developed from watching movies and TV, I wrote this: ...Some Information on Head Injury Effects

Nice collection you've got there.

Hmm, I'm not sure satisfaction is the right word, but you got me thinking about how it would be different if I had bought the model.  One that size and detailed would run $2000-$3000 or more.  I stopped thinking about how much time and work (and frustration) it was to build and just enjoy it now, not sure the same would be true if I spent that much money on it.  Also when I accidentally bump into it I don't worry so much about damaging it, it would be a pain to build another but I could do it even better and I'm sure a little faster if I damaged this one so bad I couldn't fix it.  So, yeah, having built it does change how I think about it somewhat.

Makes me wonder if you could make more and sell them.

There are a handful of people out there that do that, build models like that on commission.

Wouldn't be worth it for me, even if I spent 3 hours every day on it I'd only get one done every 3 months or so, then there's how to pack something like that so it doesn't break in shipping...  Would all the work and aggravation be worth $125 a week?  That amount isn't what it used to be....  To make it worthwhile I'd have to charge something like $4000 for each one.

Anyone know where I can find a print of Alex Ross' "Infinitely Evil" for less than a hundred bucks?

I can't seem to find a regular poster of this:

So, a fish with biceps?

Like this:

but with Blast Hardcheese instead of Jesus.

It would have to be awfully big to fit a long name like that in there.
I have several "evolve" fishes and a coffee mug and that word is crammed in pretty good...

And now I've got Mary Jo's theme song for Space Mutiny in my head.

Actually kind of nice, it's a funny song.

Space Mutiny
A mutiny in space
Everybody here is all the same race
.......... falling over railings all over the place.....

I saw this at an antiques shop yesterday.  Was very tempted to get it for RVR II.

I wonder what other tie-in merchandise for DUNE they made?
Kid sized Baron Harkonnen costumes for Halloween?
