Just checked out The Bride and the Beast. That one's a weird one...

I actually enjoyed the movie more than the Riff on that one. It seemed like it should have been a riff gold mine but the guys never really seemed to hit the zone on it. Unfortunately I feel this way about most, not all, of the more recent riffs. I can't really tell if the riff quality is worse or if I'm just starting to burn out on it. I liked the two with Lash LaRue but I found The Kiss of the Tarantula to be one of the most disappointing riffs in a long time.

Hulu is a godsend on a sick day.

Supersonic Man
The phrase "a poor man's Puma Man" is one of those statements that induces the brain chemistry equivalent of a divide by zero error. It can't have an answer, yet here it is. Although probably not as much goofball fun as Puma Man, either with the source movie itself or the riffing, this one has plenty of laughs. I'm having a Schlitz and Coke.

Rifftrax Live: Manos
A nice new take on the old classic. The audience laughter adds to the experience and the two shorts included were both a lot of fun as well. You really can't go wrong riffing Manos...

I agree, the Live riff was good. But it's essentially a lateral move from the episode. Which is why I've always said, if they are going to re-riff movies from MST3K they should be doing ones from KTMA and Season 1.

Yeah, and while it isn't inherently bad to reriff, the original is so branded into my brain it feels wrong.  It's sort of like when you are used to one version a song and then the same singer sings it live or something and he goes a different way.  Sometimes it can be even better than the studio version, but sometimes it would feel... off.

I guess there's no chance of Mitchell being riffed,  ah-hahahaha!  I would like to see another Shortstravaganza.  Shorts are cool, shorts are always cool.

Anyway,  I just finished watching Teenage Mutant Blah Blah Blurtles. Fun riff, but, wow, the movie blew!  If I was a kid, I'd probably like it.  But, being about as old as sand, it blew...it blew like sand in a hurricane.

Yea, I don't disagree with the idea that re-riffing a classic seems redundant... And I wasn't excited enough about it at the time to go see it at the theater... But it was still a worthy overall effort. A few lines here and there from the original popped into my head along the way, but I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. I think part of it was just the audience chuckling at things that were riff-free... like long pauses and awkward cuts... Less the crowd participation, this probably would have dropped a notch.

Indiana Jones and the Skull thingy.   Great riff, bad movie.  Somewhere on the forum, is an article about Shia Lebouf apologizing about his acting during this movie.  I must say, he was no worse than Harrison Ford himself.

The plot, camerawork were typical of the Stealburg/Pukus line of crapbuster movie And oh, GOD!!  That awful music. It's that really, really shitty guy, that did starwars and whatnot, that everyone thinks is great music, but really, really sucks and makes me want to puke and vomit everytime I hear a single note of his shitty, shitty, craptacular effing shitty music!!!  :grr:

I seem to have gone astray on my review. Ahem.   The movie blew petrified dinosaur snot, OK?

But, with the riff, ah...blood pressure drops, and I start laughing.  But, then I remember Staw Wars, and that BASTARD John Williams and his effing  Da da da dun ta da dun ta da, every time Dart Vader even THINKS about walking! I mean, Damn! Even when Darth Vader dies, you hear this slow, mournful effing bells chiming effing  Da da da dun ta da dun ta da!  What is wrong with you?!

I seem to have gotten distracted again. Fuck you, John EFFING Williams, and your shitty, shitty, music!  Watch the Riff of  Indian Jones and the kingdom of the Crystal Skull.  It's funny! Damn!

The Lurker

I enjoyed his other stuff, though I liked the soundtrack for Crusades more than the movie.

BathTub

I recommend you follow it up with Red Letter Media's review.

Miku Fan

Thanks for the recommendation.  I am just starting to watch the phantom menace review, and it's making me laugh.    :)

I actually have a lot of respect for Williams as a composer...  But, anyway...  I just finished watching:

Anaconda

This riff is honestly one of their best.  I had more laugh-out-loud moments that Godzilla and TMNT combined.  I had forgotten how truly bad this movie was, but the guys did an amazing job with it.  Really surprising, given it was a stretch goal, and kind of the afterthought of last year's Kickstarter.

Disembaudio's intro was so awesome.  Seriously, guys, let the little... whatever he is... out of the closet every once in a while.

I really loved their riffs on the many continuity errors.  These aren't usually ver funny, but they did great.

Also, Bill's Owen Wilson impression.  "It's just comm(bubble-bubble)on sen(bubble-bubble)se..."

I re-authored this one last night. I haven't had a chance to watch it all, but from the 2/3 of the film I've watched so far, I agree that this is a top notch riff. This film is a riffer's goldmine.

Between this and The Haunting remake, two terrible films almost completely redeemed by seeing Owen Wilson get brutally killed.

Miku Fan

Would someone please post a link to Anaconda?  I can't find it on the rifftrax website.  I haven't heard it was released.  I'd like to get the mp3.
