Has BOND 24's Script Been Completely Overhauled?
Quote from: Phil Nobile Jr
Remember when we talked about how Bond 24 was being pushed to December so longtime 007 screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade could "punch up" the script, and we thought it was kind of weird that a mere dialogue polish would push the schedule back so significantly? Well now Daily Mail Bond Boy Baz Bamigboye is saying the rewrites were maybe a bigger overhaul than initially suggested, his sources going so far as to say the new script is "substantially different" than John Logan's draft, and that Logan's work has been "politely moved aside." Yikes! (And yes, we know it's the Daily Mail, but Bamigboye has a reputation for being on point with this stuff, so for now we'll give the benefit of the doubt.)

You know what? Sony could just fix this problem by not hooking up their computers to the freaking internet! I'm certain that's what Disney does, all their stuff for Star Wars is sealed inside of computers with no internet access, no wi-fi, not even usb ports, and no ability to save, just modify data on the user's part.

Sony... your stuff is worth billions of dollars! Keep it safe from the outside world by keeping your movies/etc exclusively on computers not plugged into the net.

The Lurker

Just hope they don't go with the codename fan theory.  I'm not a fan of that one.

Thoughts on who'll sing the Spectre theme? Mine picks are:

5) Frank Ocean 4) Idina Menzel 3) Lady Gaga 2) Beyonce 1) Conchita Wurst

I'll be honest: I don't know if you made up that last one or not.  Sounds like a Harvey comics character no one cares about, like Little Lotta or Hot Stuff the Little Devil.

She won Eurovision last year and the song sounded suuuuuuuuuuuper Bond-ish

I still haven't seen Skyfall (just skimmed it).  Or finished the one before that.  Still, I like the idea of getting back to '60s Bond stuff.

Skyfall is definitely in the vein of 60s era Bond. Well worth the watch in my opinion.

I've been listening to the James Bonding podcast with Matt Mira and Matt Gourley.  They rewatch every Bond movie and review it. I've been enjoying it. They do Dr No, then Skyfall.  From Russia With Love then Quantum of Solace, and so on. They will end with Roger Moore in the middle. So far I am up to Diamonds Are Forever.

Quote- As noted, Batista will be playing villain Mr. Hinx in the next James Bond movie, Spectre. Filming is underway in the Austrian ski resort of Sölden. Below is Batista with Daniel Craig, who played James Bond, and Léa Seydoux, who plays Madeleine Swann.

I just hope it's a performer that I actually like who does the theme song. Not a whole lot of mainstream performers I like that much anymore.

I agree that Adele's theme was wonderful. And the Madonna did was awful. But then, most everyone else also thinks the Goldfinger theme is great, which I find absolutely atrocious.

Johnny Unusual

I don't remember a hip hop one (what movie is that?) but Madonna's and All Time High are pretty bad.  It's funny because earlier Madonna did a great song for the second Austin Powers that is much closer to a good Bond theme than the ridiculously unimaginative bond theme she provided.

The World Is Not Enough is pretty great, but I actually liked the Casino Royale one a lot (though, I agree SkyFall is superior).

Goldfinger and Thunderball are pretty great, but I always felt that they oversold the villains.  Goldfinger feels like the villain should be a master of seduction, but he's a tubby guy who gets pissy about losing in his first scene.  He's not an awful villain, but the one the song posits feels so much better.  Thunderball too: I get it's about a guy who is willing to take outrageous gambles for big gain and greed, possibly being a guy who's behavior could take Bond off guard.  And while he's not bad, he's kind of a guy with an eyepatch.
