Hi, I'm new...

[bigsurevan]

Hi there...I've been an MST3K fan for years, and love
Rifftrax too, though I haven't seen all they have to
offer yet...recently enjoyed SHARKNADO...can't believe someone
had balls big enough to produce that, but sooo glad they did.

I'm an artist that uses cheesy B-movies from the 50's and
60's for inspiration.  I'm 48 and live in the redwoods of
Big Sur California with my partner of 17 years, who is also
a big fan of our beloved trio, Mike, Bill, and Kevin.
I'm impressed with some of the sharp wit I've seen
demonstrated on the boards here, and hope that
I can join in from time to time...

Being new, I have several questions, like, where is the
calendar feature located,  what are Child Boards, and are
any of you going to the live show in SF in February.?  We're
considering going, but are a little put off that there will be
so many guest riffers...though the audience experience may be
worth the trip...
I'm Evan, btw...

Hi Evan, welcome to the Rifftrax Red Headed Step Child!

Hi Evan!
The SFSketchfest organizers post here, and I suspect would grudgingly gladly answer your questions.

Your entrance to the forum was quite funny. I was on the phone talking to a friend, when I saw your post.  We were suspecting a punch line to be delivered sooner or later.  The video was a perfect punchline.

I hope you enjoy visiting this nutty place!

Welcome to the forum, bigsurevan. The forum right now isn't working quite up to snuff. Normally there are Unread Replies and Unread All buttons that make things a LOT easier. Here are the links you can put in your favorites and use until they come back:
Unread replies: http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php?action=unreadreplies
Unread all: http://forum.rifftrax.com/index.php?action=unread;all

I also am the (un)official spokesman for the iRiff groups. Fan groups that make riffs, many of whom are just as funny as Rifftrax themselves. Unfortunately for the time being that section of Rifftrax is down for repairs. But I can direct you to www.theootl.com which has the riffs of Quiptracks, who are the best of the best of the iRiff groups. That wesite also has Turkey Shoot, Ice on Mars, and TreacheRiffs, all of which are very funny too.

Welcome to the boards.  I see you are enjoying the game board.  We usually also have a List of Crap to recommend, but it seems to be taking a break for now.  I think when the site picks up again, it'll be back.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and info...I look
forward to seeing the site running at full steam.

Welcome aboard.  Also, didn't see anyone else answer this question yet.  Child boards are sub-topics dedicated to a specific Rifftrax.  If you look under "Individual Rifftrax" on the main forum page, all the child boards listed underneath are groups of topics dedicated to each release, because who wants to wade through all the topics at once just to see what everyone said about the first X-Men movie riff?
