It was mentioned on December 14 by Pakman,  It was mentioned on the first natgeo thread, in the television discussion section.  I think I found out about it via an email newsletter.

Yeah there was a new thread and discussion in the old thread.

What the hell...they ALREADY aired? ...You're kidding me right?

There was absolutely NO promo for this on the main site...until after the fact.

I was even at the Rifftax Live! Santa Claus show, which was hilarious, although on Bluray or even DVD on an HD TV the Belcourt Theater looks HUUUUGE - it's actually kinda of on the small side for a theater, but cool as hell none the less (FYI - Southwest Airlines is freaking AWFUL) and I think I remember them announcing it but no dates [could be wrong - I was pretty buzzed since the Belcourt Theater has some nice craft beer on tap haha, as does the Nashville Airport, that you can drink in the airport and bring on the plane - which I found rather nice; made the wait for the plane back home easier]

A forum post isn't enough for something like this (lets be honest - the forum I'd love to be on more often but it there aren't really that many new topics or posts that sometimes I'll come on the forum, and its been weeks with maybe a few new posts and MAYBE a thread) Nor is an email/newsletter - those get buried 98% of the time in Spam and crap emails.

You need to announce it big time - there were announcements/news posts/banners for at least a month or two before last years Total Riff Off.

I thought the whole Total Riff Off's thing was gonna be an annual April Fools Day event? It really should either be consistent or really well promoted - I mean you do good ratings, right?? Nat. Geo might not be interested next year if no one watched because...no one knew! I don't really watch cable - mostly streaming services and stuff like that.

I would've loved to have watched this in High Def live... :grr:

And what's up with the pre-orders? How much longer til they're up to watch for those who had no idea. Last year it was like the SECOND the Total Riff Off episodes we're done in their first airing, I went onto the site and they were up ready to buy, download, stream - everything. I pre-ordered them thinking:

"Oh - they're trying to drum up more sales - to show Nat. Geo just how much the fans want to see more of this type of programming. Good plan."

Only to find out they already aired  - to me business/marketing wise - thats ass backwards (No offense Rifftrax - still love you guys lmao)

Also am I the only one that thinks the Pre-Orders - especially when they're gonna be weeks to months away should come with some sort of special inducement to make people pre-order? In the music world that's a general practice - a free tee shirt, signed cd booklet or poster, special edition, digital download, extra exclusive tracks (or a whole exclusive EP that may or may not be songs that didn't make the cut) or at the very least cheaper than the retail/non-preorder price... (That might be the case - but I'm not sure; I believe the Total Riff Off Episodes last year were 5.99 in HD as well.)

Hell in most of the entertainment business thats how preorders work - Preorder you're season of *insert favorite upcoming release here* and you get it the day it is released, as well as a significant price cut/possibly free shipping (which obviously doesn't apply to digital releases).

So who should I be  at hahaa, is this Nation Geographic's doing?? Holding out on us?!

If it already aired, 4 days ago - what's the hold up guys?

And did the Kickstarter shorts ever come out? And/or will they? I mean...last kick starter with Exclusive Shorts - Mr. B Natural, etc etc eventually we're put up for sale for everyone (and I had the spare change to make that tier - to me if your gonna eventually release the old "exclusives" - you should with the new ones, it's really only fair). Its been awhile since the Anaconda/Godzilla kick starter...

and Sharknado Studio Riff? I loved the Live show, but once is never enough. I was kind of disappointed (not terribly, as I missed Godzilla Live!) that Godzilla came out first. I really hope this isn't going to become a trend...the Live Shows that they can't even release in their proper and best form - because big name studios are assholes; then not even getting a Studio commentary treatment :( at this point I'm wondering if we're gonna even get a studio commentary for Anaconda... *sigh* (another one I missed, had tickets but got sick as hell and couldn't attend)

Seems like A LOT of stuff is being delayed or missing these days.

I'm pretty sure I remember them specifying the airdate of the Total Riff Off at the Santa Claus live show.

I'll try to post a better reply later. Short reply: They disd't do a great job of advertising that stuff here on the forum. I've suggested somewhere, that they CC their announcements to the forum.  They advertise on Twitter, Facebook and newsletters.   There are a lot of guests that visit the forum.  They may not be Facebook nor Twitter followers, so announcing things here on the forum would increase the chances of people knowing about this stuff in advance.

Also, the NatGeo stuff IS available for download now.  http://www.rifftrax.com/collection/national-geographic

Weeeeird - when I posted that (the REASON I posted that) was because I went to my Library and it still said Pre-Order with no download/stream link. Thanks for letting me know though, now I've got something to watch haha  :highfive:

I agree - its best to cover ALL grounds but I think the main Rifftrax website is where people are going to be going to the most (to watch their collection).  Granted - the news is kind of easy to miss being on the side like that, I'm not quite sure why either LOL.

Probably was being made available as you posted.  It just became available this evening.
I agree about advertising on the forum and website.  Cover all the bases!   :highfive:

(Looks at Kickstarter rewards page) I see A Case of Spring Fever and AYFT: Play Clay and they're both available in the store as well. I don't think the third short,  Duck and Cover, has been recorded yet.

There were lots of announcements - I knew all about it and I'm in a different country and couldn't watch it here.

There were emails, tweets and facebook posts. It was being talked about on these forums. There was an announcement at the live show, according to you guys (again, wasn't available to me here)

MST3K info posted about it: http://www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=18926

If you don't see it because you don't follow any of the above, then I don't know what else they could have done. You've chosen to actively not accept information from them.

Anyway, the good news is they will be available to buy from Rifftrax, so you haven't missed out.

Dammit, I'm talking about HERE. In the official forums. I don't give a shit about the tweets and the FB posts. Receiving an email the night before I made this thread about the downloads was the first I'd seen of their existence. Then I look on TV lineup to see they aired days ago.  >:(

There was also a few on their youtube page.
