Edgar Wright has only made one great movie.

If you don't feel like reading the whole thing, a couple of the big points are:

It's gonna be a reboot, not building on the universe of the existing movies.  Paul didn't want to mess with the legacy, and says he loves telling origin stories.

He's open to original cast members making cameos, but there are no deals in place and if they do show up they won't be playing the same characters.

Well...shit. Very dissapointed it's going to be an origin story. You know, even the first Ghostbusters wasn't originally going to be an origin story. It was supposed to start up with them already established.

Yeah, I'm trying to bite my tongue until I actually see the thing. Still, I'd be lying if I was very optimistic, especially after the mediocre outing that was The Heat.

Really? So you'd hire the Zuckers, the Wayans, the idiots who made the Epic movie/Scary movie/Haunted house movies over Christopher Nolan? You know, Christopher Nolan has actually written a few funny jokes in TDK trilogy...

Actually, now that I think about it, GOTG writers James Gunn, Chris Mccoy and Nicole Perlman would be great too.

On paper, giving Feig and his crew a shot is not a bad idea.

Implying like it'll be a rehash of the first film - except with The Ladies! - in that interview is a terrible idea.

I'd love to see a few talented actresses and comediennes take a swing at Ghostbusters. But the implied 'origin story' within... I'm not really interested in that. At least now, well before casting and the like. We'll see.

Amazingly, I kinda feel bad for Dan Aykroyd. To put in all that work towards a third film and to not have even a cameo as Ray? Talk about a kick to the nether regions.

I don't know why people are tyring to find new writers and directors when they already have such a great team on the job.

I have to admit I'd prefer it not to be a reboot too, but I have a fair amount of trust for this team.

It's nice that most Facebook commenters feel the need to point out a) They're not sexist but b) women aren't funny.  Also this is somehow linked to the new Thor and Falcon being Captain America again, who will stand up for white men?! WHO!?!
