I learned that you can be a guy accused of 'pumping iron' non-stop and still have the body of a middle aged father of 2.

...I also learned from this thread that I don't notice swearing as much as a lot of people.

- how I read any complaint about MST3k (or Star Wars or Ghostbusters)

I learned that some films are not just incoherent, but actively anti-coherent.

This thing was aggressively incoherent.

I learned that checking in on an unstable mental patient in need of lobotomy requires nothing more than a cursory glance from 10 feet away and that, apparently, no one will actually make a physical check of the bed for the better part of 12 hours.

Sugar Ray Dodge

I've watched it three times, and I still don't know what's real and what isn't.

I watched it once and figured out I didn't care well before the credits rolled.

Same here.

The opening credits, that is.

I learned that apparently not ALL 80s slasher flicks with the words "Slumber Party" in the title include liberal amounts of gratuitous sex and 19-year-olds dancing around in lingerie.

For this cast, I'll go ahead and say that was probably for the best. Although if you switched to a steady diet of beer and Combos, in just six months you, TOO, could have the rockin' physique of that blonde dude *growl*.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

beavis2323

i learnt that teenage girls in the 80's (or at least ones who graduated high school) danced like peanuts characters

It was oddly chaste, given the genre and title.

Indeed. I mean, I was lead in with "Slumber Party" and expecting some nudity or at least some scantly-dressed young women running around and, instead, well they looked like actual teenage girls dressed for an actual slumber party. (One rocking an alligator polo, another a generic jersey and the other an over-sized dress shit.)  Which, here, I'm okay with.  Not because the girls were unattractive, they were perfectly fine, but because I suspect they were pretty much actual teenagers.

Even though I've had them myself, I learned that the last day of school is surprisingly tame and ordinary and ends at 3:00 like a normal school day. (And students still carry with them books, bags, notebooks and other items you'd need for a day in class.)

I'm pretty sure this movie was someone's Mass Media class project.

He likely got an "F" and a note from the teacher that said, "Please see me and the guidance counselor after school."

It was chaste because the director--if I may repeat a joke I already made--has the mentality of ten year old. I can't think of a more childish film except maybe The Room.

I have this theory that Chris (the dirty blond girl that serves as the main character), was the real killer. Both dream sequences were from her perspective. She seems to hate everyone (why?, beats me) and the writers went out of their way to make her as obnoxious as possible.

Yes, I know I'm grasping at straws. But dammit, I really hated her character..

Getting back to what I learned. The Manic loved to show his scalpel to potential victims, complete with blood that was always in the same arrangement. FYI, blood doesn't work like that.

Dirty blonde? I thought she was a redhead. But yeah it seems to be her dreams of wanting everyone dead. In the last dream she does kill the killer and it looked like she was about to be accidentally framed to be the killer (if it hadn't been a dream). But then again I hardly paid enough attention to be sure of anything. I tend to concentrate on riffs at the expense of plot.

It just hit me that's there been a lot of fever dream/alternate reality in the films they've riffed so far this year. This, Super Mario Brothers, the weird regression dream stuff in Bride, the Twilight Zone nonsense of City of the Dead, The Wizard of Oz. Didn't Zindy have a dream?
