I very much doubt that Edwards even has a conceptual teaser ready, since the movie's four friggin' years away. Most of the conceptual teasers from the last few years have been from projects two years away and in active development (Godzilla, Warcraft, Tron Legacy).

Looks like they ARE going to be announcing something.

Comic-Con: 'Godzilla 2' Monsters Revealed
Classic monsters Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah are headed to the Legendary sequel.

Legendary's Thomas Tull kicked off the studio's Hall H panel with a little taste of the followup to Godzilla.

After introducing a video message from director Gareth Edwards, a teaser featuring stock historical footage and a voiceover from JFK revealed that there are more threats out there. The Comic-Con crowd went wild as three creature names flashed on screen, with grainy, old school footage of the Godzilla classics flashing on screen, along with their names: Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah.

Edwards, who is directing a Star Wars spinoff before tackling Godzilla 2, said in his prerecorded thank you to fans said needed "a break" from a big sci-fi franchize with lots of fanboy scrutiny.

"So I'm up here doing a small sci-fi movie," he joked.

I also don't get why they are even doing Mothra if they have Rodan. They already have a monster that can fly.

And seriously, it's a fucking MOTH! It was stupid even in the original movies. But Lurker is right about tone. At least back then by that point in the kaiju movies they were pretty silly. Nowadays, we are trying to take this seriously. It'll be even worse if they try to shoehorn in those annoying twin fairy women.

Rodan and Angilas look amazing, but not too crazy about Ghidorah with the three eye balls.  And Mothra just looks like Mothra. I wish Angilas was in the sequel, if he looked anything like this it would've been incredible!

L-O-V-E the monster pics!!!!      Are we only going to be seeing Caterpillar Mothra and not Adult Mothra?  Just wondering since it wasn't shown.  Can't wait for this movie now!!!!!  I WANT GODZILLA NOW DAMMIT!!!!!
