What little thing did we learn?

I learned that it is entirely unnecessary for the villain who kidnapped people, physically experimented on them, and forced them to be playthings, to have any comeuppance whatsoever.

I learned that he must have poured a sugar packet into the coffee, because it didn't do a damn thing.

Action Batch

I learned that she can Judo Robert Reed and is one heck of a good Administrative Assistant.

Also from Bloodlust! is Tony the drunken boat Captain as the elevator guy.

"A thing I like that there was no chance would ever continue until recently is now continuing but it doesn't meet my exact personal specifications so fuck this"

- how I read any complaint about MST3k (or Star Wars or Ghostbusters)

TriffRax

I learned that you can just end your movie without resolving any of the plot threads.

In addition to the cast members from "Bloodlust!", this movie had the old foreign scientist from "Wasp Woman". AND John Agar. AND the Amazing Colossal Man. AND the elf-like guy from "I was a Teenage Werewolf". About the only thing "Attack of the Puppet People" didn't have was puppets. Or an attack.
Oh bite me, it's fun!

I learned that dolls wear lingerie.

I learned what John Agar sounds like when he laughs forcefully for an extended period of time. I wish to unlearn that as soon as possible.

I learned that there was more than one evil-doll-maker-who-fashions-dolls-in-the-likeness-of-his-victims movie in the 50s.

I learned that doll makers work in office building and have pretty elaborate industrial devices in their commercial property.

I also learned that people who MAKE dolls as their business also BUY dolls from doll vendors.

I learned that doll vendors exist.

I learned that in order to make science-shattering devices that would revolutionize the world as we know and how we understand mass and matter can just be created based off a crack-pot theory and with really no back ground in developing revolutionary devices or without a team of scientists or anything like that.  I hear the Large Hadron Collider started the same way.

Ugly, smelly, horrible little dummies, stuffed with sawdust.

Dolls who would never have ham. Certainly not unless they get it themselves.

Dolls who would never drink wine.

Yes, horrible, smelly, ugly, stupid-

I learned that the most puppet-like thing of this movie is the above's painted on eyebrows. Whoa!

I learned that our riffers either don't know Agar was married to Shirley Temple or refuseto  because they're as disturbed as I am. I thought there was ample room for a Shirley riff but...

Also, any reference to Tormented I missed? The funniest extended sequence was when Susan Gordon (the child who was also the child in Tormented and happen's to be someone's daughter) shows up the first time--the bit with the cat intercut with the escape. Hilarious. She played the same tough girl persona she did in Tormented and was great. Cheers to Susan.

Overall, thought this the best riff of the year so far. I give it a 9.

She can judo me anytime.

I learned that John Agar can kick the crap out of a puppet.  And that Bert I. Gordon should be known as a worse filmmaker than Ed Wood.
