Wait, scratch what I posted earlier. I just remembered this is a musical. This means MKandB doing some singing. Looking forward to it.

I hardly consider Jaws a classic in the same vein as Casablanca or The Wizard of Oz or Citizen Kane or Psycho... It's a fairly newer classic but not in the same boat (pun intended) as like, say, Gone With The Wind.

Have to agree with that, Jaws is not a true "classic" movie.  It's was a medium/low budget movie that happened to turn out very well.

And I thought the riff of Jaws was very good in spots, I had deeper laughs during it than Casablanca.

Not sure what to expect during this one, if they treat it like Casablanca I'm expecting mostly mild laughs, but here's hoping they add a little more dark humor into this one.

Hooper drives the boat, chief.

I'd consider "Jaws" a "classic" just a different kind of classic than WotO, Casablanca, Citizen Cane and other movies from that era. I mean, Jaws pretty much set the definition for the summer blockbuster thriller, scared people of the water for generations and has a lot of scenes and lines in it that are referenced and mocked to this day.

My main point is that Casablanca was such an "untouchable" sort of classic that they referred to it as a "Rifftrax Challenge" and that it was their "first" of that sort.... but then never followed it up with any others.  I was (and still am) looking forward to more of those untouchable classics being riffed.

Personally, I'd love a Rear Window or North By Northwest riff.... but Psycho or The Birds (Birdemic jokes aplenty!) would probably have more riff potential, because they're a bit more serious and dark in tone than most other Hitchcock films.

Off of the "classic" topic though, I would also kill for a THX 1138 riff.... or maybe Duel.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Oh Hell yeah! Oh God yes!  Hopefully I remember to get the Iriff at the same time because I totally wanna do that.  But yeah this is glorious news!

YES! I haven't been this excited about a riff in a while. As far as riffing classics, this would be near the very top for me.

And, as a musical, Willy Wonka and High School Musical are in my Top 10 Riffs of all time, so I'm wondering if they can keep up the trend. No pressure, of course. ;)

Excellent point, doggans. Being referenced in practically every MST3k ep is something I noticed but don't think I ever heard anyone else mention it. I feel somewhat validated in that observation now (the amount of meta didn't hit me until I read your comment tho).

Oh, this is awesome!  If there was one classic I would have picked to get the RiffTrax treatment, this would be the one!

Nice.  I picked up the Bluray for $3.00 on Black Friday.  How often is a Blu-ray cheaper than the riff itself?
