SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS

[Evanrood]

Loved the show. However I missed the goodies url. Could someone please pm it to me? I've included a pic of my stub so you know I'm for real

Awesome time! I haven't seen the MST3K riffing in years and I've NEVER seen the CT riff, BUT HEY GUESS WHAT I DON'T CARE ABOUT EITHER OF THEM ANYMORE! I had an awesome-great time with four of my favorite people ever, one of which has never even seen a RiffTrax before. While I love all the live shows, I think this one gives both Manos and Jack the Giant Killer and run for the money. GREAT TIME! GREAT RIFF! Excellent job all around! Can't wait for the VOD!

[mattwnelson]

I also think this is one of their all-time best live shows. Laughed loud, hard and often (one throwaway line by Mike DESTROYED me). As soon as this one comes out it's an instant buy. I'm really glad it was this good, too. The original MST version was only notable to me for Patrick Swayze Christmas, and I never saw the CT version because I feared that no riffing could improve a film I found so tedious. Now I want to get that one as well. Was really pleased with the Snow Fairy short, which I'd seen before in a pretty funny iriff (I need to watch that again to compare; it's been a while). Now for them to stop teasing me with a live version of Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny and just do it (I LOVE that one).

As much as everybody loves Norman, I think the Snow Fairy is now Queen Supreme of live shorts. Just WOW!

[Sugar Ray Dodge]

I think a live version of Ice Cream Bunny might just destroy the entire universe. I'll take this, though. It's more than worth it

I CAN EAT CANDY!

I CAN EAT CANDY!

Just from looking here and on Twitter, I can tell this line will come to define the night. Hell, my brother who isn't even a hardcore RiffTrax fan like me, texted me after the show "I can eat candy."

This short DID NOT seem like 26 minutes at the show. This is Setting Up a Room level of long.

Skipping around that YT link, it seems like a chunk of the short was edited out, there's a bit in it where the individual toys dance/sing to impress Santa, including the JitB getting out of the box and dancing.

The theater was packed.  Saw a few guys sitting in the aisle.  There were seats, but I guess they were up kinda close to the screen so they didn't want to be so close.  I went there with my friend Karenina, though her boyfriend showed up to fulfill his role as a third wheel.  We ran into Darth Geek there and chatted a bit.  The theater was kinda overheated and cramped, so I was distracted by that and a little uncomfortable.  Also I kept falling asleep.  I guess I didn't get enough sleep.

mattwnelson just reminded me of my favorite Mike throwaway line: "It'll wear off in an hour!" "Oh... well screw 'em." Had me laughing like an Earth child.

The description of the "brownies" before the Snow Queen short immediately made me think of the guys from Willow - minus the milk obsession.  I'm surprised that didn't come up when reading the Wikipedia article.

That's the one!

Cinemark Tinseltown in Rochester, NY. At least 75% full.

The buddy I was with kept asking if they were going to announce the next show, and we were disappointed when nothing happened - not even a Best Of RT Live trailer, which is what I expect to happen in the spring (no inside info, just a gut feeling).

I loved the short. Hopefully this means they'll do a VOD of the full version!
