I'd be surprised if "T-Shirts To Soak" wasn't already a regular feature in Maxim, actually. I'm still on the fence as to whether "Stuff" is the stupidest or most brilliant magazine title ever.

I think Raimi is a fine choice for The Hobbit.  The Spider Man movies are quite awesome, and he can do a good job of making a big action movie with lots of special effects blended with emotion and good characters.

So the next question becomes, who do you cast?  I've already been dragged through the streets for this, but I've always pictured the younger Bilbo Baggins as Breckin Meyer:

Sam Raimi is the hot ticket and I don't fault him for jumping on to a willing franchise.  Considering the development hell that Spiderman 4 is experiencing, he might as well cash his chips into this franchise.

And how about Bruce making a middle-earth appearance as Ash.  Yes sir.
Anytime someone offers you 10,000 to 1 odds, you take it.
Lets just say if John Mellancamp ever wins an Oscar, I'll be a rich man.

Compare the visual style of Spidey 1 to Spidey 2, on the first one he's on his best behavior and on the second he's a bit more... Rami.  Obviously he can and would adapt himself to suit the film (or vice versa) but I'd probably rather he made something smaller he could have more fun with.

I hope it happens - it's been 29 years since a really brilliant, talented filmmaker tackled Tolkien. Raimi would be an excellent choice. Great director. 8)

Well, I did say that Peter Jackson was...

You really don't wanna go there.   ::)
