Hello Scalpatraz, welcome to the boards. How long have you been a fan of MST3K and Rifftrax?

Be sure to try some of the iRiffs, we have plenty of really funny groups. And they tend to tackle movies Rifftrax themselves wouldn't be likely to do.

Hello Darth Geek, thanks for the welcome.

I will check out all the iRiffs, any recommendations?

The first time i encountered MST3K was around Christmas time, early 2000's.It was MST3K the movie, it was showing at an ungodly hour.I woke up to this movie, with the silhouettes in front, and just started laughing out loud at the riffs, loved it and hunted it down straight away.

I found a treasure trove of pure comedy gold, hooked ever since.

Rifftrax is excellent, but, i have a lot of catching up to do, there's an amazing amount of riffs released.

Hell yeah!

I did a Top 50 iRiffs List last year where forum members here voted for their favorites:

This is a good place to start.

Basically, anything by Quiptracks, Cinester Theater, Hor-Riff-ic Productions, Turkey Shoot and RoninFox are the best of the best where I can recommend anything on their list. There are plenty of other good groups too, but these are good ones to start with. Do you have any particular favorite genres you like to see riffed?

scalpatraz

I will check out that list, cheers

Any genre is fine, but i do have a soft spot for Sci Fi.Space Mutiny and Laserblast are two of my favorite MST3K episodes.

Hor-Riff-ic sound interesting

They are a lot of fun. They have been the best of the iRiffs groups to have their own riffing characters and personalities. Erin is a zombie, Gary is a slasher movie killer, and they have (for most of their tracks) a rather douchy version of Satan.
I highly recommend their riff of Gremlins as a good starting point for trying them out.
