I'll admit that I had been not-so-secretly hoping that we would get Super Mario Bros, but Starship Troopers is a very suitable selection for the live show. Can't wait.

I hope the VOD does happen, as that's the only way we international backers will get to see the riff, but this is a good choice.

Finally an update today.  For those who've not yet seen the E-Mail, or didn't contribute so don't get the Kickstarter E-Mails there's good news and bad news.  The bad news is that Summit/Lionsgate still sees Twilight as a viable property and while were not totally against the idea they just thought it was "too soon" for this type of project.  So as a fall-back the guys will be Riffing "Starship Troopers" on the August 15 show. Tickets have yet to go on sale, Kickstarter contributors are to get preferential treatment on ticket sales.  As of yet they're not sure if the VOD will be available as the reward for contributors. They promise to make it happen and if not they'll make a viable compensation.

So it begins, the wait until August 15 for "Rifftrax Live!: Starship Troopers."

Damn.  I was really looking forward to introducing Karenina to the world of Twilight and the world of Rifftrax live shows at the same time.  I guess I'll just have to do them separately.  I'll definitely be taking her to see this.

No, I never have. I'm sure the guys will do a fantastic job with it -- they always do. I'm just extra fond of Twilight mockery, that's all.

I knew this day would come. One day.

You see, I sat in the Galleria theatre (in the suburbs of Buffalo) on opening weekend back in November of 1997 having a blast with the film. My fellow college freshmen and I were laughing at all of the jokes, and the way that the whole thing was being treated like satire. Sure, there are friends who feel that the movie just whizzes all over the book and what it stood for (not a surprise to note that they have military families), but those people, to put it mildly, are doodyheads.

I seriously can't wait for this.
