These movies would be AMAZING with the Rifftrax guys. I grew up with these movies and they are terrible. Me and my siblings would make fun of these movies constantly while watching them, it would be beyond amazing if professionals could riff them!

You British?

There is a high degree of naff to these, as with many BBC productions, especially fantasy/sci-fi programs. I think they have potential for riffing definitely.

MSTJedi

Watched these a few years back for some contrast on the new movies. Definitely riff worthy, like many low-budget fantasy/sci-fi movies. Lots of goofiness, silly fx, and melodrama.

And the 4th Doctor is "Puddleglum" in The Silver Chair!

...have they ever even riffed a TV series? Thought they only did movies?

Granted aside from the many short educational films that they do of course..

They've done Lost and Grey's Anatomy.
But only one episode.

Looking the CoN series up on Wiki, the length of one of the 3 series would be about 2.5 or so hours, not too different than some of the longer blockbusters. And probably shorter than if they riff The Hobbit. I'd be more interested in seeing them tackle this, where they can have low budget fantasy fun, than the bloated Hollywood movie so similar to ones they've already done.
I wonder how expensive it would be to get the rights to riff it from BBC?

Tripe

Yes I was assuming they'd maybe do the one episode.

Though a series might be fun, sort of like how a whole bunch of Kaiju movies were done back in the day, maybe one episode a month along with other offerings.

I wouldn't mind riffing these since I have them already. However, I doubt there would be high demand unless it was in VOD form. I'd rather a riff on the newer version, especially The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Come on, Santa appears and gives the kids weapons. That's riffing gold right there.

TheUnabeefer

They've also done 2 episodes of Heroes (in a row, so one riff)....  Technically, the BBC Narnia is a miniseries and not a TV show. Semantics.

Not on the British side of the Atlantic it's not.

TheUnabeefer

Well then there's no hope of it ever being riffed.

No, you inaccurate classification of the show has nothing to do with if it would be riffed or not.

It is unlikely to be simply due to level of interest and availability.

TheUnabeefer

Oh, and my classification is not inaccurate.  According to both Wikipedia (which is only semi-reliable) and IMDB (more reliable), it was a "TV serial"... and "In British television, "serial" is also synonymous with the American term "miniseries" – a short-run series with one title and plot."

Brits call it a "serial" and folks in the States call it a "miniseries" but it's the same thing.

When I'm global moderator, you'll all be banned.
