I always find that the goofy 1968 song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"  by Iron Butterfly always clears my mind when something annoys the crap out of me.

I find much of Vaughan Williams works to produce calm and cheeriness.

A lot of Baroque too.

The third movement of his Scheherazade is pretty good too, and then there's a bunch of actual Turkish/Arabian pieces that work well (more for cheeriness than calm though).

Beethoven's" Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Allegretto" can get a bit much, but it always has relaxed me, ever since being a kid and hearing that on a film strip in some halloween cartoon.

My favorite get happy song is Berlioz's Marche au supplice. Nothing beats bassoon solos and heads rolling across the stage.

Pirate Jenny is also good in that regard. In German or English, though obviously this is the most accessible version:

I really dig The Surfers - Songs From The Pipe if I'm needing some mellow music.

I actually enjoyed it so much I bought copies for my dad, brother, girlfriend (now wife), and some friends when I saw a used shop had a ton of copies for $2 each.

Appreciate all the advice. Especially LucasM and Bob. It's not that far to go. I live in the heart of the Everett medical community. The psychologist is actually on the opposite side of my block about a mile away.

So, the psychologist calls me the day after our first session and says my medical insurance requires a referral from my primary medical caregiver or I get stuck with her $150/hr bill (And this woman is supposed to be helping me with anxiety). So I call the primary (whom I've never met) and the closest appointment is Saturday the 27th. I don't have Saturdays off. Agghh! Freaking out. It's like they are fucking with me. So I contact work and my boss - bless her heart - get's me a month of extended leave to have ALL this shit checked out. So yay there.

Apparently, I need a referral for sleep studies too. My VPAP machine is starting to make funny noises after 5 years of use. Do medical equipment repair places just repair stuff if you have insurance and money? Nope. God forbid you don't have a referral for that too!

It was easier to just hide in my home.

Life can play some bad things to you that the goal is just finding ways to get past them....

So is the first. I love R-K.
I have always felt this way about Poison's "Nothin but a good time" If you listen to the third verse whilst drinking a cold beer... I gotta tell ya, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.

Well at least you have all that to focus on, better living through annoyance.

Here's a track off of it:

Mrs. Dick Courier

Getting over a panic attack, haven't had one this bad in months.  Tempted to tell the doc to put me back on the damn Cymbalta.  But I'm so close to the 2 week mark.  Heart wasn't thudding too bad the last couple of days and I probably just had 10 in the last hour.  Think I'll go for a walk, that can help too bad I don't have my ipod

I'm sorry the panic attacks are still so frequent, and that you had such an intense one.  It is good to hear, though, that they have been improving enough for you to usually not feel you need to start up the meds again.
To dispel some of the misconceptions about head injuries you have developed from watching movies and TV, I wrote this: ...Some Information on Head Injury Effects

Thanks Lucas, doc didn't act like it was a big deal to go cold turkey, after a search though there are boards online dedicated to the withdrawal.  Evidently it can on for a long time.  My symptoms are normal though, including the feeling like I'm falling down, it's different from passing out.  Gonna switch docs and work out a withdrawal schedule maybe it will work better.

Came home to three {!} dead baby mice.  I don't know why one of my cats can't just eat them like normal cats should.  Instead they leave the poor creature in the middle of the room for me to step on.  Haven't stepped on 1 yet thank goodness but have come close many times.
