Even if you don't follow the news at all, it's easy to find out just by doing a quick Internet search.

I'd bet the farm that Westboro Baptist Church is going to picket a funeral.  Which offends me, but not as much as the inevitable media coverage of that protest.  That just offends me because their antics are such an old story that is constantly treated as a new story.  Newsflash: They've been at this for over 20 years.

When someone says an awful thing like "this tragedy happened because we turned away from God", I ceased getting bothered by those sentiments years ago.  Some people are just assholes, and will be assholes no matter what I think, so there's no use getting worked up about it.

The thing is, with the exception of wank stains like Westboro, most of the people saying that don't think they're saying anything hideous, that's really what is so annoying.

Yeah you have a point.  If I get that sense, I call them out on it.  After the big earthquake in Japan two years ago, some friend of one of my Facebook friends made a post on that friend's wall saying something like "Japan deserved it for taking our manufacturing jobs".  So I pointed out both the horribleness of saying such a thing as well as the fact that it was CHINA she was thinking of, not Japan.

The last time evil showed its face in Boston?  A few people got it in their head that they didn't need to listen to the laws set down by society and started committing horrible acts of violence upon people in a demented sort of self righteous crazy killing spree.
