No....I'm not Canadian....and there's no action in those movies. I've come to realize that any fight made anywhere except an asian studio sucks. They all use that technique now where they use like half second clips of action and show them in wierd flash montages so you can't see that no one can fight. If you know how to actually fight it almost makes you motion sick. Lord of the Rings did that for like 15 minutes straight.

LOTR was better than gladiator in that respect, but i totally agree with you.  Could you imagine indiana jones with rapid cuts like that.  the movies would have sucked

JinglyBells

Yeah. "If we make this disorienting enough, everyone will just think we really know what we're doing because they'll think fighting is disorienting" "Let's splice this scene so you can't see anything except orc chest and the hilt of a sword, then clip to gimli's face, then to aragorn's boot, then to sword blade. Repeat as needed." I couldn't watch, it was like looking at a strobe light. That's why I like asian martial arts movies. Even if they splice the moves, at least you see the whole move at once.

Although the strings thing is getting REALLY old in asian movies.  Thank god for tony jaa.  I miss good ol hong kong jackie.

JinglyBells

I'm not overly fond of the string crap either, it can be done in interesting ways, but meh. But imagine if they were doing that and cut it like gladiator.

Come  now, how can anyone bash such achievements as Mansquito, Hammerhead, Raptor Island, or Frankenfish? These are the sort of movies that would have made it to drive-ins in the 50's-80's. And let's face it, without such terrible films, there would have been no MST and thereby no rifftrax. Lets us embrace our terrible film successors.

I would have to agree that the majority of Sci Fi originals are colossal piles of steaming excrement, Sic Fi got it right with the Dune adaptions and the new Battlestat Galactica.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

can't say that i'm a real fan of the new battlestar galactica series, but it does provide me with some moderate entertainment value when i'm bored.
aside from actual series' on sci-fi, the movies they make are (as has been stated) less than nominal quality. i mean, i can't rag too much on them due to the fact that i myself am a digital/graphic artist. and i know how hard it is to sync 3d animation with live footage, but i don't have the amount of cash i would assume the sci-fi channel does so that makes such movies as, 'basilisk' and that one with the pterodactyls (no i can't remember what it's called, it ddn't stand out to me amongst the other abominations they've managed to create) something of a burden on the eyes.  anywho before i ramble any further, i personally think that Sci-fi should take a hard & long look at themselves when it comes to their original movies. it might show them why more ppl don't watch thier originals.
You know it's hard enough trying to decide on which movie to see at a theater, much less trying to find someone to help pay the massive amount of money it takes just to see one these days. i mean it'd help if movies these days were actually interesting, but so far no dice on that front...

Thom_Serveaux

It all kinda went downhill once they got rid of both MST3K and Tori Spellings'  candid camera type show, for me anyway...

Sideswipe

Hahaha, Scare Tactics.  With Shannon Doughtery.  Did anyone see any of the like 6 episodes of the Tremors series?  How could they not see that bombing?

Because they're dumb as posts. Actually posts have a kind of stately dignity compared to the people who run the SciFi Channel. Their movies go way beyond bad and turn into some kind of horrifying deliberate attempt to make you claw your eyes out.

Dont forget the "world premier" (I love how the SciFi channels can have WORLD!!!! premiers) of KAW tonight.
