If anyone here has ever tried to watch "Gryphon" or "Manticore", or rather tried, and managed to elude subsequent brain damage from what I can only assume is a negative budget, I think they'll agree with me that those movies deserve to be riffed a new one. Reign of Fire sucked, but if you take that suck and multiply it by pre-cut commercial slots and computer animation that would have sucked 15 years ago...wait....15 years.....make that 25 years ago.

Bob

What?   You mean you think "Skeeter" and "SS Doom Trooper" are not cinematic gold?

Yeah, their movies are painful, but at least it give some fading stars an outlet to make movies.

JinglyBells

lol Fading stars my finely sculpted ass. Have you SEEN the beginning of "Manticore"? "I'm a terrorist, so I'm going to unleash hideous, screaming, computer animated death on my own village!" I didn't see one person in that movie who should be allowed within 50 yards of a camera for the rest of their lives. That includes security cameras.

Bob

What?   Chupacabra is not pleased.

JinglyBells

Hehehe. I totally forgot about chupacabra. Thay should just take all of those movies, splice them together, and riff THAT. I bet it would be better than any of the movies individually.

mrbasehart

I think they produce so many crappy movies because Sci-Fi in a brief fit of madness, signed Casper van Dien and Lance Henriksen up to life-time contracts in which they have to appear in 10 movies a year.  Dean Cain has the same clause.

JinglyBells

Jesus....10 movies a year? That's like.....impossible.....even those old Jackie Chan movies that were made for like pennies an hour didn't come out in that kind of density.....and those were not good movies, barring the fights...

Bob

Speaking of Lance.........

Pumpkinhead:  Blood Feud
Feuding backwoods clans clash when a boy from one family falls for a girl from the other — and summons a vengeful demon to slay her kin. Lance Henriksen (Aliens, the original Pumpkinhhead film) makes a cameo in this action-packed tale of a tragic romance. Amy Manson and Bradley Taylor star.

Greetings, New Poster(s)!  As of now, my feelings toward you are completely neutral! May they remain neutral or better for many a month, before you say something that annoys me slightly until about a week later when I forget about it! Then, may they remain neutral again!
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

I've come to the conclusion that Canada is responsible for these attrocities.  You're not Canadian, are you?

Let's not forget this 'treasure' from Sci-Fi.... Snakeman(A.K.A. The Snake King) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0454953/ featuring, amongst others, a Baldwin brother.....

Bob

Hey, the Baldwin brothers need work.   They all can not share royalties from "The Shadow" forever.   Someone in the family has to bring home the bacon.

Hey don't get me wrong, I actually like Stephen, I just wish his agent could get him better roles from time to time, that's all...

Ugh...my husband actually likes those Gawd-awful Sci-Fi original movies.  "They have lots of action," he says lamely, when I ask how he could possibly endure even one more badly-rendered CGI monster attacking 20-somethings who can't act their way out of a paper bag.  I wouldn't mind so much if my computer weren't in the same room.   :(
