Back when I used to eat steak, when it had good taste, like 25+ years ago, it was always medium, never liked it red, slightly pink in the center was as red as I would like it.

I like to dry hump my steak for a while, then rub it all over my body; kinda get to know it on an intimate level.

Get you steak cooked to medium doneness, it'll be juicy and full of flavor and unless you have some really rare and severe auto-immune disease you won't get sick off of it.  Don't let that little bit of red scare you it's perfectly cooked.

I don't like it. I don't want to eat it that way; I'm never, ever going to. Why the fuck do you care?
Edit: That's what bothers me about this whole thing. People who aren't even eating the food on my plate for some reason give a shit how I choose to eat it, as if taste is some kind of absolute and there's a "correct" way to do it.  It's the same shit with ketchup.  Some people go apeshit if you want ketchup on a hot dog.  You don't want it on your hotdog? Fine. You want  your steak raw? Fine.  Don't fucking tell me how to eat mine, or pretend that you're somehow "more sophisticated" because of it.

You aren't even cutting it right, and God help you if you chew it less than 42 times before swallowing!

If someone doesn't like the taste/texture/whatever that's fine. I can understand that to some level. It's when people -like my sister in law- don't like eating medium or rarer steaks out of fear of "getting sick" or because it apparently reminds her that she's eating part of an animal.   That said, over cooking a steak DOES dry it out and make it tougher. Making the guy's quips in the movie accurate. Cooking  New York (Kansas City) Strip steak to well done is going to make it dryer and tougher.

Ketchup or castup, no matter how you spell it it's still disgusting, vinegary, tomato sauce.

Nothing wrong with vinegary, ever have onion rings with vinegar?   Lenny's in Branford CT always has vinegar on the table to use with their awesome onion rings, and I always forget to write down the type they put out, it's not balsamic but it's not plain white vinegar.  You put a little vinegar and salt in a dish and "dunk" the onion rings into it.

Ewww. I love onion rings, but the most important thing is that they be crunchy (which is why battered rings suck, they MUST be breaded) and dipping them in vinegar would just make them soggy.

Nope, they are still crunchy.

You don't drown them, it's more like patting them, you put a few table spoons in a saucer to dip them in, and it's right before you bite into them, so there's no time for them to get soggy.

There's just not enough at steak in this thread.

Agreed, stake is awesome

I usually get mine when there are sales at Omaha Steaks.   They are nicely wrapped for the freezer and just sit there waiting to be cooked in many ways.

Tripe

If there's no flow of red, its way to overdone for my liking, but different strokes.

I love my steaks like I like my material, blue.

Tripe

Yeah that's a pitfall I run into here; I'll ask for blue steak and it'll come back charred with Gorgonzola crumbs on it.

Or I just have them with ketchup.

I used to always put ketchup on my steak when I was a kid, and now and then I'll still crave it like that.  More often I either eat it with A1 or just a little salt.
