He kinda is. I meant full-on vagrant mane and beard flying around in the suit; like Superman Jesus.

I still don't get why they're retelling the his origin story but I thought the trailer was great, a bit gloomier/more grandiose than I expected but I have high hopes.

Two trailers and so far there are zero punches. 

Also if they're gonna riff on the anime power up scenes, there'd better be plenty of Superman yelling at the top of his lungs before he punches something.

Well, I like what I see, but much like Transformers, it can absolutely reek and I'll probably still enjoy it because I love the character so much.

At the very least, the trailer looks like Snyder may have reined in his style for this one.  I think it looks quite promising, but we're still very much in teaser mode.

I think that the style used for Batman Begins does not translate to Superman.  That's my main concern. I worry someone saw Batman Begins and said "Lets do this, but for Superman".  The two characters and their lives are worlds (literally) apart and Clark Kent's sunny Kansas childhood and the shining optimistic skyscrapers of Metropolis are intentionally at odds with the heartbreaking childhood and grimy Gotham underworld.  I don't want to see some super-stylized Watchmen type film but it also should be a gritty realist/noir tale of Kal-El. 

And as long as we are speaking of Kryptonian beards, it HAS been done well before:
