Well, missed out on this one too.  The only reason I found out about it is because a fellow member was awesome and sent me a message the tickets were on sale.  I went to the site, couldn't find anything to indicate they were on sale or sold out, so I called the theater, and they were indeed sold out.  He said they sold out in about 10 minutes.  He also said there won't be anymore.  I remember for the last show Rifftrax said some tickets were going to get released closer to the show.  Well, I checked every day for what, over a month or two?  That never happened.  If it did, they went instantly.  So I'm not going to hold my breath for this one.

So now I am seriously pissed off.  Come on Rifftrax!  It's clear you've got a dedicated fanbase.  Your live shows sell out almost instantly.  You've got a lot of people like me who are willing to travel and skip a day or two of work just to come see you.  So how about spreading the damn love and do a tour or something?  Nothing big, just some of the major cities.  I was totally set on going to the show in October, but I didn't happen to be on the computer in the right 10-20 minute time frame.  Or how about doing two shows that day?  I know the point is the live broadcast, but maybe you could do a warm-up show, or an encore show, which would double the ticket sales!

I guess now I know why they don't bother to send out emails letting us know when the live tickets are going to go on sale (which some of us asked if they could please do last time).  But it would still be helpful and at the very least give every one who wants to go a shot at getting tickets.  Kind of like how if you're on the email list for Ticketmaster you get a list of all of the upcoming concerts, along with the day and time the tickets are going on sale.  Had that gone out, I could have at least had a shot, as would everybody else.

Just extremely frustrated.

We sent out quite a few notifications over twitter and facebook in advance of when tickets were going on sale for the Belcourt; not to mention the Belcourt's own site as well. Apologies of you don't follow social media and missed it; but we did get the word out about it well in advance.  (We also announce the shows far in advance of the tickets going on sale and we're quite diligent about answering emails - so it's easy enough to just ask.)
Any issues with the RiffTrax main page should be directed to support@rifftrax.com Attempts to engage with me directly about such matters will result in ridicule.

While I know that Fantom films does not do live shows to Canada, I've noticed that some of there shows DO show up in Canadian cinemas through Front Row Centre Events, owned by our major theater chain Cineplex. Any chance you can contact them to do some Canadian screenings? E-mail: frontrowcentre@cineplex.com

It does sound like you had gotten the word out, but as you suggested I don't follow the social media.  I do check these boards, and didn't see any mention of any dates.  I do check the MST3K Satellite info page for news daily (I don't believe you guys have anything to do with them, but they usually seem to be up on things).  And like last time, I wasn't the only one who said they didn't use the Twitter or Facebook sites for our news on Rifftrax.  And again like was mentioned before, Rifftrax has no problem sending out a mass email to everyone saying, "come buy such and such product," so I don't understand why it's not possible to just send out a blast saying here's when the tickets are going to go on sale.

Clearly Rifftrax has a good sized, dedicated following, which is AWESOME, because it helps to ensure that Rifftrax will keep putting out movies for us to enjoy.  But since it does have such a big following, maybe some more live shows, in other parts of the country, might be in order.  I know the stock answer is the production crew really likes the Belcourt.  That's great.  I don't care.  There are fans all over the U.S. who would love to get the chance to see them.  Or at least have a few extra showings at the Belcourt so MORE people can buy tickets, and just broadcast one of the shows live.  I would much rather get the chance to see them live just once, than just get broadcasts of the movie.

I mean, you've got people willing to travel from around the country to come to the Belcourt, and clearly not enough seats available.  I'm no math genius, but it seems to me that a lot of money is being missed out on here if the place is selling out in 10 minutes and you've got a lot more people willing to buy tickets.

We Rifftrax fans are truly dedicated.  Who would drive 8+ hours just to watch a terrible movie?  Rifftrax fans!  So again, let's spread the love (platonically speaking of course)!

I guess from now on I'll have to try and keep an eye on the Facebook page (Twitter, no thank you) for whenever the next show might be.  But I'll kindly ask again:  can't we also please get emails saying when the tickets (for the live show, not just the broadcasts) are going to go on sale?

I posted in this thread on Tuesday that tickets were going on sale on today.  And I found that info out from Satellite News (granted it was in an article they linked to and not specifically stated by them, but you would think that an article from a Nashville paper about "looking ahead to Birdemic" might have some info about when tickets are going to go on sale.  So it might have been in your interest to click that link and read that article.)

Also, I follow @Rifftrax on Twitter and saw nothing about the Belcourt onsale from them before today.  They did however tweet about the tickets for the Fathom Events version being on sale on Fandango.  The only thing they did today was retweet a couple of posts about tickets (first one that they are going fast and the second one that they are already sold out.)

TheUnabeefer

I got our tickets (to the Fathom event, not in person) .... We'll oddly be sitting on the same row but on the LEFT side instead of the RIGHT... but otherwise, pretty much the same seats.

Okay, nearing 3000 posts... Only a few more.

Dang.  I guess I blew it then regarding being thorough with this site.  My bad.

I checked the Belcourt site daily hoping that tickets for Manos were going to be released like I heard they were, and at the same time I kept checking for news on Birdemic, including clicking through to October on the calendar looking to see when it would be listed, but there was nothing, so I'm not sure where on the Belcourt page the news was announced.  Regarding the social media that was pointed out to me above though as being suitable notice, I went back through the Rifftrax Facebook page all the way to the beginning of July (unless I'm mistaken the big banner post from Thursday was regarding the movie theaters around the country, not the Belcourt), and the only mention of the tickets going on sale for the Belcourt was just what was like on Twitter:  "hey, they're on sale NOW."  Not, "hey, on Friday at such and such time they'll be on sale so get ready!" So again, the problem being that while yes, social media was used to say, "hey guys, the tickets are on sale," you had to be on the computer exactly right at that moment to find out as they sold out incredibly fast.  Soooo, that doesn't really help.  But then I suppose why should Rifftrax care?  They sold out in minutes.  Doesn't matter which fans got them, just as long as they sold out.

And yes, I'm kicking myself for not reading this thread more thoroughly and not clicking through all the links on Satellite news.  I guess I didn't realize just how much work I had to do to buy a ticket.  I'll know better for next time.

And I don't mean to sound like a whiny little baby, I've just been a fan since the early 90's and Mike, Kevin and Bill were by far my favorite cast for MST3K, so I just want to see them live.  Is that so wrong?

Is it going to be all new jokes, like the Manos one or just a live version of the one available on the site. The little trailer they put out said new riffs but all the sample riffs were from the one on the site. Thanks for any help given

We haven't even started editing the script for a live audience yet, but I'm sure it will end up being a combination of the two
