[Marvel's Wasp and...]  So its basically just the wings thing, which they already got with tinkerbell (and another tink movie coming out to theaters shortly)

Oooh!  A Wasp / Tinkerbell crossover event! ;D

Speaking of the Disney connection, a friend and I were talking about Wasp and we were thinking it's a surprise she's not shown up yet. Her character, and her fecking huge wardrobe, would seem to make her perfect for Disney; she'd be a flesh and blood Disney PrincessTM. :)

She's in the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! animated series.

And that's the version I was seeing in the, ahem, "crossover"

I think of her as Tina Fey Jan. :)

I hope he's doing it because he really wants to, not because Disney is forcing his hand. It doesn't seem to work when directors do something more out of obligation than passion.

Actually, he's said before he loves comics.  He loves Marvel comics.  He's written Marvel comics (in addition to Buffy-and-Firefly-related stuff).  He's a writer/director.  To be offered to produce live action versions of characters he loves has got to be a dream come true for him.  Do I think he'd love to do it endlessly?  Probably not: he's got his own creations he would want to work on.  But do I think he's wildly pleased that he gets to set the direction for Marvel film/TV for the next couple years?  HELL yeah!  :)

I am hoping he sticks to what he said after the premiere, that if he directed another one that he'd want to do a smaller and more personal story with the characters instead of trying to outdo the first one on the epic scale.

Maybe they could settle down and manage a charming little B&B somewhere in Vermont.
