Wow, I go out of town for the weekend and find out Lost is coming next.   Excellent!   And this is another DVD that I own.

If the MODS want a complete list of all my DVDs to keep this streak going, I will be happy to share!   ;)

Therefore, I need someone to buy the"Lost" RiffTrak for me while I'm away.  In exchange, they may have my DVD.  And they must also laugh during the entire 1-1/2 hours, thus sparing me any and all obligation to find out if anything of any import happens to that eyeball after it opens (I'm assuming some sort of post-airplane-crash grit may be involved, although whether there's enough drama in that to support a 90-minute two-part episode is questionable).

Umm, I freely admit to being retarded but why can't you buy it when you get back?  You know, these things still exist when you return from vacations, unless of course that Film Crew interview was right and synching the DVD with the mp3 became too clunky and this site is, in fact, shut down by then.  I find that highly doubtful.

Unless of course you're stating that you have no intentions to watch at all.

It's gotta be true, I read it on the internets!

Because I said so, that's why.  As the Official Creepy Old Guy of the RiffTrax ForumTM, I'm your elder, so what I say, goes.  Don't make me turn this forum around, 'cause you know I will, and then you'll have to stay with Uncle Ray and I'll go to Disney World by myself.  Do you want me to call Uncle Ray right now?  Do you?

Good.

Now, how 'bout some ice cream?

Also, if you guys live near an Albertson's, they have both seasons of Lost for rent on DVD by the disc. So you can pick up Disc 1 of Season 1, and, at least at the stores in Washington, they only charge $1 for a 5-day rental. It's pretty sweet.

perhaps I will check out block buster, I'm already known as the guy that rents the worst movies ever made.

Speaking of which, I went to block buster tonight and grabbed the first disc of Lost.  There was a man there who grabbed the last disc after me.  Then he went straight to the checkout line.

I almost wanted to ask him if the only reason he was getting that one was because he liked "alternative commentary".  But then I opted to not be the creepy guy at the video store.

Well, then, Blockbuster it is!  And tomorrow is, conveniently, my day off.  And Blockbuster is in the same shopping center as my dry cleaner.  It must be fate!

And, NickE, enjoy your Disney cruise!  I've heard they're amazing. (Not that I work for the company or anything.  But stop by and see me at the Disney-MGM Studios if you get a chance.  I'll just be repeating "RiffTrax" over and over everywhere I go all week so you'll know who I am.)  I'm gonna get myself on one someday, I swear!  It'd be silly not to do it, with the Cast Member discount I get!

And now back to the actual topic...

NickE

Cast Member discount, huh?  Isaac, you suck.  ;D

I didn't get a cast member discount, but I got a Microsoft discount: I did two weeks' consulting work for Microsoft's SPOT watch project last year, and that check essentially paid for this trip.  It's a celebration for my S.O.; the last (and only) time we were on the Disney cruise, she'd just had the first of two surgeries for her breast cancer.  That was five years ago next week, marking a "technical cure."  WOO-HOOOO!!!

AWESOME. My mom beat cancer, so I know how good it feels to get the news.

Great news! My better half is a 2 year survivor of breast cancer, and that 5-year mark is really important. Bravo to you and yours, and have a FANTASTIC trip.

We're going to Greece and Italy on a school trip with my step-daughter as a sort of present like this next spring.

P.S. For everyone who wondered, $8.99 to keep Lost Season 1 Disc 1 from Blockbuster, plus the price of the rental.  Definitely cheaper than buying the whole set.  And the wording on the receipt really does make it seem like they want you to keep it.  It's like Blockbuster has become a rent-to-own store now, except instead of charging you outrageous prices over 800 payments for large items, they charge you a reasonable price in essentially two payments for something that wasn't very expensive to begin with.

So, I'm naive when it come to the ways of downloads/burning etcetera, etcetera.

If I buy the pilot episodes on iTunes, will I be able to burn them to a DVD-R?

Yes, I have DVD burner at my disposal, for that matter. What injects me with doubt is this message from the iTunes page: "iTunes 7.0 and QuickTime 7.1.3 are required to view video". Does this mean I will only be able to watch the downloaded video from a computer?

One thing you can do if you want to stay legit is to buy the episode off iTunes, and then rent or borrow the DVD, using that to rip and make your re-authored DVD from.

Now that we know this for sure, combined with the fact that you can get it off iTunes, there really is no arguement that this RiffTrax is "hard to find".  In fact, it's probably one of the easier ones.
