Yeah, I don't know if anyone listens to the podcast Doug Loves Movies, there was entire category for the Leonard Maltin Game called Sean of the Dead about movies where Sean Bean dies.

Hideo Nakata To Direct Graphic Novel Adaptation 'The Suicide Forest'

EXCLUSIVE : Producers Roy Lee and Taka Ichise are teaming on a live action feature adaptation of The Suicide Forest, the graphic novel from IDW Publishing. They've attached Hideo Nakata to direct. He helmed Ringu, which hatched The Ring, and he directed The Ring Two.

The first in a series of four graphic novels written by El Torres with artwork by Gabriel Hernandez, the thriller revolves around Aokigahara, a vast forest outside Tokyo which is called the most famous suicide spot in the world. Legend that spirits of past suicides roaming among the trees. An American ex-pat living in Tokyo must enlist the help of a forest ranger in Aokigahara to help free him from the clutches of an evil spirit haunting him from the Suicide Forest.

IDW's Ted Adams and John Middleton will be executive producers. CAA and Circle of Confusion rep IDW, while Nakata and Ichise are repped by ICM

Yeah, I posted about that in the "movies that are going to suck" thread.

I understand Lionsgate wanting to keep it around because of the money it makes. And it certainly didn't have any dignity originally, so it's not like they are ruining anything. But really, how hard is it to make a Twilight clone with another name (they've already done that anyway with Red Riding Hood) that has the same appeal to the same demographic.
