I'm not a big Alien franchise fan... I loved the first two movies, having seen them a shitload of times growing up during their initial HBO runs... but I'm not somebody who could tell you the backstory of Westland-Yutari or whatever 'the corporation' is named... That said, Alien 3 and whatever they titled Alien 4... yea... those movies were shit.. at least when compared to what preceded them... and it still pisses me off that they were the only ones released when I was old enough to waste my money seeing them in the theater.

Spoiler

That's what I shouted when I saw the film the first time around.

Relaxing Dragon

Many a stupid decision was made by characters over the course of the film (to the point where things were dangerously close to becoming an idiot plot), but weirdly enough that wasn't the one I was the most annoyed with.

This FAQ on the movie does a good job of summing things up: http://www.toplessrobot.com/2012/06/robs_prometheus_faq.php

i think "Couldn't see his dong; I don't know for sure." is possibly the best answer to any question ever.

And did they ever deduce why River was made of chocolate?

Eh, I'll go ahead and spoiler this just in case:

Also I forgot to mention that my experience with Prometheus was greatly enhanced by the fact that, possibly due to either noise or how I was sitting (or both), I got a unique and free 4-D treatment as the baby wouldn't stop moving the entire movie. Moving/rumbling seats, my ass.

Sideswipe

Hahaha, you'll be paying for that rumble feedback entertainment later!  By the way, check your PM's once in a while!!  :-P

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

I'd be annoyed and point out that Base already posted that, but instead I'll just use this:

Because any excuse is a good excuse when it comes to using that gif.

How'd that make you feel during - that - scene? :)

Raefire

Well...That was...okay. Felt more like a Part 1 more than anything, really.

Still a bit miffed Scott went with all pretty shiny new tech. I hope his sequel to this explains how it devolved from iPads and holograms to punch cards and one monochrome monitor....

I think that's pretty easy to explain - Prometheus was cutting edge space scientists, while Alien was space-truckers.

Sideswipe

Not all truckers are created equal.

Some are more equal than others.

No.. they were space hipsters and employed monochrome monitors and punch cards ironically... which explains why the alien was so eager to skull fuck every one of their torsos in half.
