What does everyone think??  The new "Your Library" page is so much better than the static list!  I love it!

Looks nice. The home page slider is very slick. The sortable, visual library rocks! I like the new nav menu as well. The more prevalent link to the forum will hopefully attract more newcomers.

A couple issues I noticed were the column content layout on the iRiffs page is tweaked, and you lose the header on the Library page.

There was a LOT of time spent on this (I can only assume). It looks GREAT!

In general, I think it is much nicer!

A couple of small annoyances:

  • If you are on the "Buy Rifftrax" page (with all Rifftrax in order from most recent down), it is difficult to get to the links on the bottom because more and more Rifftrax keep showing up as you scroll down. It also takes a while to get to older titles since you can no longer page through. I think I prefer the old way.
  • On the main page, the scrolling teasers at the top of the page have one line of the write-up and then "...". When you click on the line, you expect that it will take you to the product page with the full write-up, but it doesn't do anything.

I HATE TOM SERVO'S NEW VOICE!!!

...but I quite love the new site. Awesome site! Great job!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Very impressive. I do like the layout, and the library is much improved.

iRiffs are pretty much hidden, which I suppose isn't super suprising

Torgos, I know you're a very nice person, and that you work extremely hard on this site. I commend you for it. But I'm going to be super-critical here.

This redesign would be great if I were always browsing the main website on my phone. But I'm not, and thus I'm not too fond of this design. The last design was absolutely perfect. This is just going too far into "Hey! I figured out Flash (or HTML5, whatever it's programmed in)! Let me show off!" Just because you know how to program in that doesn't mean you HAVE to use it... Or at least use it, but preserve the last style of the site. There's a website I go to all the time, Filmtracks.com.  It hasn't changed its design except for some slight graphical upgrades in the banners (read: gradients added! the shock!) for years, and it's flawless.

Just browsing when you don't know what you want is now annoying as hell thanks to the constantly loading riffs. I haven't even tried looking at my File Downloads page yet, but I'm going to assume it's the same "constantly loading."  That's nice for sidebars on blogs like Gawker, but it doesn't work here, I say. Please go back to the previous design of the site, or make some compromise between it and this, like adding pages to the catalogue browsing. If you want to keep that big featured riffs slider on the main page, fine - but at least allow the entire description of the riff to show up in it. There's certainly enough space to pull that off. And also, clicking on the featured riff just brings up the sample. I think most people are expecting clicking to take them to the full page for the riff. I think it should do that, instead of having to right click to do that.

I'm not angry at you for doing this redesign. Some of it works. The individual riff pages are much cleaner now. Those can stay. But I just don't think that this new design works overall. Sorry.

Why all the hate for the self loading pages? On the old sites if you were browsing through the catalog you would have to hit a link to go to the next page.  At least now there are filters for genres and types of downloads. If you are looking for a specific movie the search works the same as it did before.

The link to it on top might be gone, but there's a featured iRiff on the front page again. Hope it changes more often, but it's a good step.

I like the self-loading pages... when I was organizing my shorts, I was able to have the complete, long list of shorts on this site up all at once on the same page as a reference, as opposed to constantly clicking pack and forth between pages.

but only if you know the actual title. i'm slowly going through the shorts when i buy something new, and knew that i was on a specific page. now to get to the shorts i haven't bought yet, i have to scroll. and scroll. and scroll. and scroll. and scroll. and scroll. it's just poor navigation design.
