Not just yet, since you put The Gold Rush up for consideration for this round.

Tripe

Ok cool, wasn't sure where we were in the nomination/poll rotation. :)

I don't think I've put up anything this round, and since I'm about to leave work and don't have time to really type out a reasoning/defense:

John Carpenter's The Thing. I'll wear you lot down on this one yet, just you wait and see.

LucasM

The Bride of Frankenstein

Besides being possibly the best Universal horror film, this was the first horror film to use dark humor to augment a serious storyline.

New poll is up.  Start new nominations.

I'll include
John Carpenter's The Thing
and
The Bride Of Frankenstein

D.B. Barnes

VIVA IL ESORDIO DEL DIABETE ADULTO DUCE!!!

ScottotD

Can we stop nominations there? :)

This is very true. That movie's about as close as anyone has ever come to actually filming a fever dream.

I was just reminded of this with news of Rian Johnson's new movie coming out (even though Rian Johnson's Brick isn't getting any love)

Primer

I guess I'll make a case for Brick....

It is a "Neo-Noir" story set in high school.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a hardboiled detective trying to solve a crime and uncovers the seedy underbelly of his high school.  This movie is about as perfect as a movie can get.  Just check out the trailer:

The meeting with the vice-principal is classic!

I would like to nominate In Bruges for the next poll.

Is everyone so far using all three of their votes in each poll? I have to confess that I'm not -- this time around I only voted for The Graduate. What is everyone else doing?
