The only strong feeling I had about the whole thing was that I liked Queen Amidala much more than Princess Leia (who I never liked as a character) because she was actually GRATEFUL when she received help, and was willing to be humble and ask for help (even from Jar Jar) when she needed it. Leia sure as shit didn't learn that!
You really think so? Amidala always seemed pretty apathetic to me.

Amidala a better character than Leia? Are you crazy? Amidala bones down on the kid she used to call "Annie," while  Leia gets Han Solo and makes the bastard work for it.

I think it's pretty clear that DG just wants to poon Natalie Portman.  ;D

One of these days I would like to do my own pre-recorded radio show of my own version of episodes 1-3. Radio shows are hard though, no longer does the "Show, don't tell" rule, apply and as a consequence i fear it's going to sound really cheesy.

We actually have a thread where we were talking about redoing the prequels as a radio drama.

I liked her better only really in Phantom Menace. Once Attack of the Clones and particularly Revenge of the Sith happen, I hated her again. But I was just so glad she was actually grateful for help, and was willing to ask for it in a respectful way!
I was always fucking irritated by Leia because she was grossly incompetant and was way too full of herself. Seriously, the first thing we know about her is that she is captured by Stormtroopers!

I've often wondered how Brian Daley would have approached doing a radio adaptation of the prequels.  Of the Star Wars audio dramas, his adaptations of the original trilogy and his original story Rebel Mission To Ord Mantell are far and away the best.

Personally I wish he'd been on hand to write the prequels themselves, he was a terrible loss, his are by far the best versions of the first/fourth and second/fifth films.

Still, I wish Lucasfilm would hire somebody to adapt the prequels into an audio drama.  I could do it.  I'm not busy.

I'd do it but I'd want to re-jigger the whole thing.

Thing is, I'm not sure LucasArts is actually all that against it, it'd not be considered cannon but Lucas, for all the criticism, doesn't tend to quash most dissent. If I had an in with them it'd be something to delicately bring up.

Actually I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Lucasfilm isn't the least bit interested in doing radio adaptations of the prequels.  God knows why.  George Lucas has made money off them in pretty much every other medium.  (I myself prefer the telepathic versions.  Call me crazy, but you catch so much more detail having the films beamed directly into your brain.)
