Meh, Riffed or no, I think I'd almost rather watch the new Underdog movie...

Wow, Hobgoblins 2.....I don't know how, I don't know why, but I'm scared

We're talking about a movie with the potential to make Troll 2 an academy award winner by comparison....

Anyone else think Rick Sloane did this as a joke? You know...he must know how horrible Hobgoblins was...I almost refuse to believe it was a serious movie. And the way they talk about the pictures and such....don't you think he's just trying to be goofy and make a purposefully campy and ridiculous horror film? I dunno, it would be entertaining to see this movie riffed, but I think it would be even less serious than the original, which might make it difficult.

oh both are definatley a joke.  and you do have a point it might be difficult.  but its just my desire to have Mike have a go at it.  I am sure it would appease the mstie fans.

Natureboy

Someone may have to ask Mike or Msampo (owner of www.mst3k.com) if I am correct, but I believe that Rick Sloane himself submitted Hobgoblins to Best Brains for the show.

QuoteThis is the long awaited part 2 for writer/Director Rick Slones classic Hobgoblins shot in 1988 complete with original wardrobe and goblins...

Who's been waiting for this?  And why are they still alive?

Tehpogo

Ugh. As much as it is a terrible, terrible idea, morbid curiosity will sooner or later drag me into seeing this movie, if just to see if the Casio Rakes return. This will be followed by a permanent session of blindness and death. :gouge:

True. Still, if this is made,  I still want to see it riffed.

Nice Morlun avatar, by the way.

Please tell me there will be no encore performance of "Pig Sticker" in this sequel.

I was bieng threated with death by wolf raping before it was cool!.

Snowhead the Blue Reindeer gave me all the presents in the world.

I just watched Hobgoblins 1 yesterday and my confusion over why anyone would make a sequel is completely renewed. Maybe if it's a "direct to Rifftrax" thing, but.... is Sloane expecting to have a cult following or something?

BobEvil

I think he might believe just that. That somewhere, there's an unheard grouping of people who pop in their copies of Hobgoblins and laugh with it...and then kick back and say "What an enjoyable film experience...I do hope this brilliant mind produces such another fine body of work." Of course, no such people really do exist...but Mr. Sloane can keep on dreaming.

Pak-Man

Well, if memory serves, Sloane was the first and only movie-maker to actually ask for his movie to be riffed... :^)
