I have to put this at 7.5. Much like the film itself, I started really enjoying the last 45mins-1hr. Seven seems too low for how much I enjoyed it, but it doesn't deserve an 8 due to a LOT of "This film is so bad" (How bad is it?) stuff. I know it's gotta be extremely hard to write ~7hrs of Transformer riffs, but I did find almost too much repetition in that. To their credit, they started cutting each other off cuz it was getting pretty gross. Haha. Even with that criticism, I have to point out that there were a bunch of really great, funny lines (I only wish I could remember more).

What's taking the opinions so long? I'm not sure about buying this one & was hoping to read some more feedback.

Though yours is always valuable, Stan. So are you saying the Rifftrax improves once the extended Chicago-demolition-derby starts?

I found the first Transformers Rifftrax surprisingly enjoyable; hell I even tolerated the movie itself more than I expected. I couldn't stand the 2nd one at all. I think that's because the first one had enough breathing room throughout the first 2/3 for the riffers to joke at ease. The 2nd movie turned all worst elements up to 11... it was like trying to insert lyrics over a drum machine set at 1 million bpm.

*Sigh* Okay, just tell me, are they any Fargo jokes? My main curiosity about Trans3 is the career-degrading appearances of Frances McDormand & Leonard Nimoy, particularly the former.

[I'm getting even more frustrated because I can't simply abbreviate using "T1, T2, T3". The Terminator series has already claimed T-status, and rightfully so, I don't want to sully it. We need a new abbreviation for the Transformers series. How about  :gouge: 3?]

Bayformers 1, Bayformers 2, Bayformers 3 (although admittedly that isn't much of an "abbreviation")

Actually, probably even before that. That may tie into how I feel about the movie itself. The only thing I liked in the movie was Chicago being blow'd up real good. But, for me anyway, I started laughing consistently even before that. And FWIW, I didn't care for the first Transformer movie that much (the movie or the RT), and I don't plan on watching the 2nd with or without the RT any time soon.

If there are, it wasn't blatant enough for me to catch it. They do call attention to why she isn't doing better work tho. Nimoy gets a decent amount, but moreso for his voice being all old-man-slurry. For example:

How about Tranny 1, Tranny 2, and Tranny 3?  Oh wait...    :-\

Okay, I've decided to take the plunge, thanks! Yes, Rifftrax, you got my $4 because Stan vouched for you acknowledging Frances McDormand. At least I'm guaranteed one smile!

In case you didn't know, it's a long ass movie, and the riff has only been out since yesterday. I'm currently on my second watch-through right now. Just paused to check the forum.

Based on my first viewing, I can corroborate at least one of stansimpsons comments, and that's that there's a lot of repetition (and not just in "this movie sucks" type jokes). This comes in two forms: Running jokes (within the riff) and Reused jokes (from previous riffs). I like to see the former, as I feel it gives a riff a sense on continuity. I don't like to see the later as it just feels like they couldn't think of anything else. The running jokes run throughout the riff, but the reused jokes are fairly sparse until near the end where they start to pile up. I get the impression that where just running out of steam, and ideas, towards the end. And you can hardly blame them, consider how ridiculously long the end sequence is.

Because of this, I had the opposite feeling of stansimpson.  I felt the pre-Chicago stuff was better than the overly long Chicago battle sequence. Having said that, I agree with him that there a quite a few really good bits throughput the whole riff. I think it was worth paying the $4.

I'll give an actual rating sometime after I'm done watching it at least twice.

I didn't even realize that was the same woman as in Fargo.

Also, regarding my last post, keep in mind the two prior to it weren't there while I was typing it.

Can't say I'm surprised, CJones. I liked the latter half of the Inception riff waaay more than the first half. And then I find out everyone else felt the other way around. Oh, and I'm an absolute sucker for re-used jokes (i.e. jokes referencing previous riffed titles).  ;D  But I'm guessing you meant riffs heard from other titles?

Also, I just remembered there's a lot of "That's what ___ said when ___." Those can be really great jokes. Most often, I hafta think about 'em for a second till I get 'em. But that structure felt very piled-on this go-around.

Prince of Space 5049

I absolutely LOVED this one.  I gave it a 9.  I thought most of the riffs were well written and thought out.  Not just the constant toss off lines.  Maybe it's because the way I feel about the film and the actors in it are perfectly mirrored by MK&B.  It was a fun ride all the way through for me.  Great work guys!

The last hour was spectacular, both in riffing and visually (story was still garbage obviously) so I'd say 8. Best one of the Transformer films.

TheUnabeefer

8 for me.... The movie dragged it down a bit.  I really couldn't figure out what was happening when and where throughout much of the film.  Actually, the first half was just a pile of shit that made no sense and had worthless attempts at dialogue.

Fun riff though!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Phantom of Krankor

I'd say this is the best of the three Transformers Rifftraxes. Lots of really good lines. And I'm amazed that the best jokes came out of the conufsing chaos during the endless Chicago battle sequence.

As for the Transformers movies themselves, I'd say the first is the best because its somewhat watchable while the other two are just god awful dreck. Especially the second. That movie literally hurt me.
I am Ambassador Phantom, from the planet Krankor! I am rapidly approaching your planet... in the warship, which you have just seen. I will arrive tomorrow night at precisely eight o'clock. At that time I shall make my wishes known to you. You will obey them... or die! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

turbospaz3000

easily a 10. this one might have been their best ever. its a laugh riot from start to finish. i lost it when mike equates the "box" line with the ditzy blond. lol.

Can we get in?
Not without coups. Not without coups baby.

eegah

Really good; probably the best of the Transformer riffs.

HOWEVER, these movies are extremely painful to watch. It's like getting poked with a bunch of screwdrivers for almost 3 hours straight. It will be a while before we watch this again (as was true of the other Transformers riffs). I hope that everyone involved receives karmic justice for what they've inflicted on the viewing audience.
