I was worried the Red Sox would tee off on Worley tonight, but the rookie pitched a hell of a game....

Hamels goes for the sweep tomorrow afternoon.

The Sox are nasty, but clearly a flawed team.  We need a big right handed bat off the bench.  Or something.  When you trot out McDonald, Cameron, Varitek, & Beckett as the bottom of your batting order and Beckett has the best bat of them all? Yeah...

Bob

Dear god, someone kill Buck and McCarver.   A half inning in the game and every second of airspace is filled up with how "new york is the best place in the world", how great EVERY player is, how smart each GM is, how (per McCarver) "How many people around the country are tuning into this game just to see this bat by Reyes?" ....... (answer:   Zero dipshit).

If you let me put a team together for 200 million, I could probably build a winning team and one that is around .500.

At a Cape League game. The only thing I miss about living down here.

Oh heard good news on Pujols recovery Bob

Bob

I guess his bionics are kicking in.......

Freaking beautiful night for a game down here and my hometown team won. Seriously I you are on Cape Cod in the summer you need to see a Cape League game. Plus it's FREE.

Pujols off of DL tonight after missing 16 days for a broken wrist that was supposed to keep him out 4-6 weeks.

Good lord. He really is a machine! He's probably been in a highly-secure underground facility undergoing repairs for the last two weeks. Wonder if the techs took the opportunity to give him some upgrades.

So if the playoffs started today our rotation would be Beckett, Miller, Wakefield, Aceves, and Lackey.

Yikes.

That sound you just heard was all of ESPN's staff's pants getting a bit snug in the crotch for some reason...

Yikes.

So if the playoffs started today, our rotation would be on the phone with their agents desperately looking for a way out of this nightmare.

Fast-forward to Ravech, Kurkjian, Olney, and Gammons engaged in a spirited circle jerk while a loop of "THHHHHHEEEEE YANKEES WIN!!!" blasts through the studio monitors.

I think Gammons is more of a homer for the Red Sox.

Yeah, but he's more of a fan of a good circle jerk.

That is all.

Their EC-bias has merit in this case, approaching three-thousand hits is a helluva milestone. The more power to them.

On the other hand, Pujols coming back this soon is lunacy.

...and blowing 6-1 leads on consecutive days isn't any fun either. My relationship w/ the BrewCrew has always been tough love.
