A Norwegian movie that looks absolutely badass, and is coming here next year:

I heard about this a while ago. I am so looking forward to seeing it!

It's apparently going to be OnDemand, too - hopefully, unlike Ong Bak 3, it's actually part of Frontier's OnDemand lineup this time...

[Relaxing Dragon]

I caught this at the San Francisco International Film Festival this past Monday, and I totally loved it. A good mix of humor and horror, and while it hits all the usual tropes one encounters in a found-footage faux-real film, it feels fresh and enjoyable enough to get past all that. Excellent acting from the characters, and the CGI is great. It's a film that's a bit similar to Monsters, in that its regular folks dealing with a world that's got a slightly altered reality.

On the local downside of things, that trailer spoils a lot of cool shots. Just a heads up.

[Starman!]

It's playing at a theater around here this week. I'll have to go see it.

Ebert liked it, if that influences people any: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20110622/REVIEWS/110629994

Just came back from watching this. Awesome movie. Shaky-cam, yes - but not amateur shaky cam. The only time it's kind confusing is when the cameraperson's running. Other than that, they keep everything in focus for the most part.
