Favorite riff:

"Who on earth gets stoned before chopping a bunch of wood?"

That one made me laugh so hard.

Did you say, Doritos?

Quicksilver

speaking of which, where was miss Cannabis on the island? obviously she knew her.

Another point anyone guessed at what they gave him to cause the hallucinations, I was thinking belladonna just to go along with the witch theme.
The Ood: The Beast and his armies will rise from the pit to make war against God.
Rose: I'm sorry?
The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

Cosmic Muse

I think The Wicker Man remake's logic is harder to swallow if you think of it as just one big hallucination on Nick Cage's character's part after the accident in the beginning of the movie.
Being a genocidal maniac is not one of my turn ons.

Is it weird to hear the Safety Dance in my head watching Game of Thrones?

macleod

I do not want to even analyze it that far...nope

It was all a dream. He wakes up, and goes back to patrolling Weed, CA.

What ever happened to his tapes? "Everything's OK"....what was the point of that whole....you know what? Forget it. I'm done. I wipe my hands of this movie.

And we don't burn people alive unless they really, really piss us off!  (just kidding... maybe...)

Might I suggest these three:

Dude!  First off?  ROFLcotper!  Second?  I look at that pic and I never realized how much those costumes looked like fetish regalia from a some gay porn flick... OMG!!!  Totally gay!  Not that there is anything WRONG with that, it just probably shouldn't be in a comic book flick.  Although, as much as I love Batman, I really have a problem justifying him hanging out with a young boy in a cave....  uh...

Anyways, you know the famous "Burning Man" festivals they hold in the deserts of Nevada?  That is a direct line from the burning Wicker Man thing that pre-christian Pagans did to try and coax the Male part of Nature to come and fertilize their crops.  Also, it's an excuse for nutty nudists to have muddy orgies in the desert.

Hi!  I'm Randy and I'm a Riffaholic...

So umm, yeah.  I'm with Randy (I am NOT, however, randy)  After watching this, I feel I'm slacking a bit on my Paganism.  Never once have I burned a guy or even impregnated myself with that in mind for later on.  Never once have I done most of the stuff these guys did.  Here I thought Paganism was all about finding God in nature and the like.

Crap!  I'm sure the gods must be pissed at me. I've got to step it up.  I've got to meet my human sacrifice quota.  I wonder if that's why I don't have honey growing (apparently it does that sort of thing, perhaps building bee boxes and encouraging a natural habitat in our backyards would wo...mother of, there I go again.  Human sacrifice is the answer I know).

And on an unrelated note...anyone want to come over for dinner.  I was thinking maybe BBQ...? No.  Rats.

I did find it funny, but I'm not overly sensitive.  Really, it's no more harmful than Charmed which has the teens I know convinced I can kick demon ass like the chicks on Charmed.  Good for me, not terribly true however.  I know how to put the scare on the kids though, bwhahaha.
mike5150 how tall are you?.....in gallons?

This flick was absolutlely painful. Some of Cage's reactions were priceless and the riff was solid through out.

Just for fun enjoy Sister Beech as a prostitute:

MrTorso has a 'Sister Beach' fetish?...uhm...yeah.

I thought I was the only one with a Sister beach fetish.

You put a puritan dress on a stuffed bear, and you couldn't tell the difference between it and the real Sister Beach.

What, you don't like "Pimp My Bat"-Man? I feel like with that two-tone chrome suit detailing, he should have a couple spinners on his utility belt. Bling bling, bat-bitch!

If you're idea of scary is seeing Kathy Bates w/ no make-up, then yeah, you won't sleep good.

Despite strong visual evidence, Kathy Bates is not in Wicker Man.  It's a lookalike named Diane Delano.

For all you "Northern Exposure" TV sitcom fans still out there, Diane played Officer Samanski (Maurice Minnifield's love intrest.)  She essentialy played the same role here, except in a dress.  The most unreal moment of the film was when Nicholas 'one punched' her.  Shoot, she would have shook it off, picked him up and broken him in half!

Anyway, I had great doubts if I could make it all the waythrough this film.  I dispise movies that ooze hatred for the opposite sex like skunk spray, but Mike and Kevin came through and carried me to the end.  Kudos guys!

This is the least sexy movie about an island full of women EVER. :^)

Aaahh! This movie just throws you violently into the next scene!

Yeah, you know Sister Beach wasn't going down with one punch.
