One of my favorites so far (possibly becaus eI HATE this film.  My favs have either been on movies I love or movies I hate).

BUT I had a time getting it started.  Mike says to start it whne the "Saturn Pictures Production" text on black fades out.  BUT it's suposed to be after the Saturn logo, which wasn't exactly on a black background and didn't have "Production" on it.  So I was starting it tool late.  But it's awesome now.   :D

Pak-Man

What was the point of ANY OF THAT!?

So we start with a family that gets blown up in a car wreck. That goes NOWHERE.
So it turns into a search for the dude's missing child. The missing child wasn't missing. She was bait. It takes about an hour of screen time for our hero to figure this out. Everything that happens in this hour, because it was all a trick, goes NOWHERE.
So the movie has about 10 minutes left to redeem itself. This 10 minutes is spent watching our hero get loaded into a giant Wicker Man (WE HAVE MOVIE TITLE!) and getting burnt to death.

To quote the Simpsons, "There was no lesson here. It was just a bunch of stuff that happened."

So do they build giant wicker men every year. Kind of.....stupid as hell. I mean really craftsmanship, but come on. Also the alternate ending really wasn't alternate, more of what you assumed would happen next.

Damn feminists, this is what happens when you take the womens liberty thing too far, you get a bunch of honey harvesting lesbians that kill nice guys that try to save them. I didnt think bees were this rough, this is more like preying mantis behavior.

The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

This flick was absolutlely painful. Some of Cage's reactions were priceless and the riff was solid through out.

Just for fun enjoy Sister Beech as a prostitute:

Got worried when some people said it was O.K. and not great. Watched it. Loved it. I had quite a few laugh out loud moments and a few hard to breathe moments. Definitely a must buy.

  Wow. Bad movie. Good riff.

I'm with Pak. Why was the car blown up in the first part of the movie? And how did the mother/daughter survive to be seen later on on the island? I'm confused. But perhaps I'm overthinking things.

Personally I love the original Wicker Man and was against this remake from the very start. Especially with Nicolas Cage starring in it. Which made me enjoy seeing it ripped to shreds even more.

My favorite riff:
"Don't you hate it when your platonic woman friend turns out to be bees."

I finally just turned the sound off and the subtitles on.  MAN, this was a painful movie to sit through.

I haven't seen this one yet for reasons which may become evident later in this post.  But let me tell you about depression...

The original film, and by extension this film, is based on... sigh... my own religion.  Yes, that's right, I'm a pagan and this movie is part of a large collection of Hollywood travesties that make me look like a crazy, human sacrificing, moon-bat.

The original British flick is kind of a cult classic with our community because it "sort of" accurately portrayed an ancient pagan culture that may have existed in pre-christian Europe, but... you know... anyways... this remake is supposed to be even more silly and hurtful to our faith so...

Anyways, I'm gonna get it and I am interested to see what the guys do with it, but I know I will be sad.

As a discalimer, we Pagans can really be very level headed, kind, and SCIENCE based, rational people, like me.  And we don't burn people alive unless they really, really piss us off!  (just kidding... maybe...)

I was reading about the origin of this tale, this movie strayed so far away, that I think the general public wouldn't even know it was about pagans, nor what a pagan is. You might actually find it quite laughable. In that omg I cant believe this, kind of way. I mean heck from what I saw, the only CLEAR tie to celtic paganism was the brave heart paint job on summerisle. Yeah there were other references obviously but they never really came out and said it. Perhaps some accents could have helped, but it seemed the "actors" weren't really up for much of anything let alone an accent to somehow tie the movie to europe. Something

Btw was anyone else waiting for mike to yell out FREEEDDDDOMMMM!!!!! I kept waiting for it and they never bit on that joke, besides the reference.
