My theater was almost empty, and my friends and I were the only ones who were laughing the most.

I did hear some laughter from some people up front though.
"Don't make me shoot you...CROOOOOOOOOW!"

Tyrant

This was great! The guys were in top form. No complaints.

The skeletal John Wayne joke just about killed me.

I missed the animated shorts narrated by the little girl.  So Reefer Madness was still the best live show for me.

You should check out the Penny cartoons from Pee Wee's Playhouse.

You can find my post about the problems that my theater had in another post, as this one is focused on my comments on the events itself.

-Only thing mentioning about the problems that my theater had: thank goodness the "Grocery Witch" short was the one that was the "free download" short, given how I missed half of it due to my theater having problems. As for the short, here's hoping that "Grocery Witch" will become a running gag in future Rifftrax riffs.

-Anyone else not really into the stand-up bit involving the biggest cliche in horror films (outside of the "Grocery Witch" cracks)?

-Yep, that paper bag short is another weird one that I need to download when it comes out (that and the grass one from the last Rifftrax Live event).

-Add another person who's disappointed by the lack of a callback to "A Case of Spring Fever" in the paper bag short. Another missed oppourtunity: a callback to "More Dangerous With Dynamite" and how the guy in the dry cleaning explosion looked like Vincent Price (unless a joke was made before the "Grocery Witch" short).

-Funny part that hasn't been mentioned yet: the cracks concerning the caretaker's wife "floating" out of the room (as if she was wearing roller skates).

-(after realizing what the "HEADS" joke the people were talking about is) Oh yeah, I definitely had to chant along during that part.

-When Kevin left because of a bad joke, did anyone else thought that this was done because Kevin was going to show up during the scene with skeleton puppet receating the gimmick that was used when House of Haunted Hill was originally in theaters (i.e. him terrorizing Mike and Bill with an inflatable skeleton)?

-Other costumes that I noticed in the live crown besides Observer: Pearl, Batwoman, and Puma Man.

Phishbulb

First time poster, but I noticed some people here weren't too into PFT and his "sink and mirror" routine. It is a little drawn out when he does it, but that is kind of his style- he stretches things out in order to wring as many laughs from his routines as possible. Another routine he does that's similar is his bit on gag peanut brittle . The ridiculous lengths he goes to sarcastically describe how "common" peanut brittle is just make the routine funnier in my opinion.

I personally think he is hilarious, but I suppose I can understand if this was your first exposure to him, you might not have been blown away by his sink and mirror bit. But check out his albums "Impersonal" and "Freak Wharf"; the more you hear of his stuff you'll probably grow to appreciate his style.

Pure comedy gold. I was laughing so hard my ribs ache today. This was a fantastic show, one of the best if not the best Rifftrax Live event to date. The format was perfect: Kevin, Mike and Bill were the main attraction and in my opinion, that's the way it should be. The jokes were timed perfectly and so well written. Eveyone was on top of their game last night. Day one purchase for me when this is released on DVD.

Great shorts, a really fun guest, and the script for the feature was the biggest improvement of a previous riff so far.  I do think this is my favorite live show to date.  I kinda missed the extra stuff, like the Lowtax shorts, but any disappointment over that was more than overshadowed by the awesome riffing.

Not sure what to put down as a favorite line.  All the laughing references to touring the house to see where the little guy's brother died and he was horribly traumatized come to mind.

That talking bag was freaky as hell.

It's just personal taste - I liked about half of his stand up at the show, but I thought it dragged on too long.  We actually had a few posts about a somewhat similar issue in the Clash of the Titans thread recently - about how a joke can start off funny, become unfunny and then become funny again if it's kept up longer.  Paul F. Tompkins humor just never gets back around to being funny again, at least for me.  I found myself thinking 'okay, enough, I GET it", but that is just personal taste, like I said.  I have seen him a few times before and didn't really care for him then either, but I thought his riffing was good, so I ended up enjoying him more than I thought I would.  I don't think he'll ever be in my list of favorite comics though.

#1 If you were at the Syracuse Carousel Mall, I was the guy in the red shirt who was still laughing at "Let's get crunk.... bitches" even after the show.

I had this immediate flash of an idea of that phrase on a t-shirt with a floating Vincent Price head in the middle.

Let me know when you start the print run: I'll take five.

How about... now?   ;D

A value shirt version will knock $5 off the price!
And don't forget to use the code OCTSHIRTSALE for an additional $5 off!  (Which would put it at about $8 total [+s&h]  :o).

Don't you spell Crunk with a C? (i.e. crazy drunk?  or also acceptable is chronic drunk, if you smokes a little reefer...but still with a C).
FIXED!  (see above)

See, I thought it was ghetto slang to call it "krunk"... but, as Li'l Jon has attested numerous times on the proper spelling, indeed it is "crunk".

About the same here, other than I watched it solo....... Well just to check. Are you from Valdosta?

I was there. Don't think I saw anyone like that though.
My group got in just about right on time. We stopped by the bar at Uno's beforehand. Ended up having to sit in the front section.

Hi Rifftrax peeps! First post here! (I think anyway.)

Our theater's favorite riff was definitely "I'd use a studfinder, but I'm afraid I'd only detect myself." The place freaking exploded. It was an AMC theater and almost completely packed. I was pleasantly surprised.

Honorable mentions in our theater were "Let's get crunk, bitches" and "Beard completer, worth a shot."

Please help me though; another one of the huge laughs was the awesome "Oh no! Someone invented the internet!" Could anyone remind me what part of the movie prompted that? I've gone completely blank.

That was during the paper short, when they were showing what the world would be like without paper and all of the newspapers in the news stand vanished.

On a related note, I was watching a Roger Moore 007 movie the other day (Moonraker, I think) and he did an actual "Ladies" moment that was so stereotypical that I'd swear he was the inspiration for the jokes about it.

OK: my order is in. What will it say on the shirt????
