Problems with the Live Show, er Showing

Rats! The AMC theater here in Cape Girardeau, MO - which has hosted every Rifftrax Live event so far, isn't showing this one! We all found out as we got to the theater about 20 min before showtime. This stinks!

The last 2 shows averaged about 20-30 people, not huge but definitely more than the showing of Nanny McPhee Returns that they have queued up for tonight. And it looks like there's to be no encore showing this time, so no way to make it up.  :(

This is an unmitigated disaster of earth-shattering proportions! (for us anyway, had a bigger crew than last time - all of us had a nice dinner then wham, no show) I guess I'll have to call and bug them into hosting the next one, we'll see how that goes...

I can sympathize. Mine hasn't shown one since Plan 9 and that showing was packed.  :(

Also an AMC

I called them and the person didn't have a clue why they didn't carry it this time, but said that they might have it next week. However, I thought that there WASN'T going to be an encore this time, or was I wrong about that as well? (been wrong a lot apparently! haha)

I'm really bummed because I was wrong about the time. By the time I was getting ready to leave and found out I messed up on the time, the show was starting and I was looking at a 30 minute drive to the theater. I hope they decide to do an encore, even though it looks like none are scheduled. I am so bummed! I even had two other people going with me and they missed out because of my screw-up. Only an encore would save me now!
Or DVD!

We drove sixty miles to the theater after purchasing the tickets in advance (October 1st!) in North Carolina only to find out when we arrived that the show was canceled.  We never received a notice from Fantom events, the theater, or Rifftrax that some theaters that were previous booked were canceled.

We were so bummed!  The last time we went we had rain fade on the satellite and missed 1/2 of the show.  This time, we had such a crappy week with a horse dying and someone damaging one of our buildings by driving into it, I kept saying to myself "Well, at least the live Rifftrax is coming up.  That will cheer us up."

What a donkey punch to the nads this was!

Fantom - If you presell tickets and then pull out of theaters, you have to alert people.  We don't all live in the city - out here in the country it takes time to drive for these things.  Three hours out of our life, plus all the planning really blows.

I don't blame the rifftrax guys - but you gotta see it from our point of view, right?

No encore..
There was some talk early on of not making a DVD of this one but I think we convinced them that would be a foolish business decision there for reasons like this right here.. :o

Still waiting on a DVD of Reefer Madness :grr:

Wholy Crap! That Sux krisbee!! :o

I would Definitely contact Fantom and even file a complaint with them (if that is even possible) cause they seriously dropped the ball there!

I agree with the technical issues and that's kept me from driving the 15+ miles one way to my nearest theater in Charlotte, NC :-[

No encore? Possibly no DVD? BUT THOU MUST.

Is it only AMC that is screwing a loyal following, because the same thing happened in Michigan City, IN.  My story is the same as Elfman's almost down to every single detail (the difference being that I arrived at the theater an hour early, but only ENTERED 20 minutes early).

OK, since there seem to be a few people having troubles I though I might as well consolidate them in one thread, let me know if there are any others that I should string together.  :)

Have you called/emailed and ripped them several new orifices in the anal region yet?  I know I would have, especially after driving 60 miles.

Anyone at the show at Rave (formerly The Bridge) in L.A.?  At 8:00, the theater manager came in and said they didn't receive the show in their DVR, so we all got refunds and left disappointed.  Does anyone know if they plan to show it later?

I didn't have any problems with the show where I was, but I just wanna berate my theater for that gigantic soda that came with the Nachos combo. I had my VIP ticket to the haunted house I've been volunteering at in hand, all ready to go actually walk through the place after the show - but the damned 5-minute bathroom break I had to take at the end of the show ended up making me get to the haunted house too late. Fuck you, giant soda.

Geez. I feel kinda bad that the only issue at our theater was that a screening of Tron 2.0 was going on at the same time as RT Live.

And as a side note, I couldn't convince the ushers to let me have a pair of the 3d Glasses so that I could experience Rifftrax in 3d. Jerks.

I've sent fantom an email, but you know exactly how all of this will turn out... with nothing.   >:(

I'll believe there's not going to be a DVD of this event if a year passes without one.  Why wouldn't they, the hard work, the performance, is already done.
"Did she just say Chipping?"
