Okay, so that was no new feature film riff in all of August, right?  Not spitting on the live riff, because that was awesome, just saying ...
Well it is the 1st day of September so guess it's time to wonder what single RiffTrax we'll be getting this month.. :o

You mean single Rifftrax aside from the usual mountain of shorts that require the same amount of work as a full-length, right?

Worry not, 20Q's will be coming shortly. No specific date yet, but I promise that the next title will make heads explode in surprise.

Okay, I'm not trying to be snarky or disrespectful here, but how can a 10 minute short require the same amount of work as a 120 minute feature film?  It seems like it would be one twelfth the work.

Because they do them in batches. The shorts only get released one at a time, but they're being written and recorded by the dozen. (Roughly)

So doesn't that mean if they were all released at the same time they'd be the same amount of work? I mean it takes, what, ten/twelve longer shorts to equal a movie - we used to get a movie every two/two and a half weeks - now we get a short a week...

So - not equal, right?

I've decided to ignore the math of things simply to state what I am pretty sure is the common purpose of all the whining:

You will never ever ever be able to release or record or write Rifftrax often enough to meet the demand of the fans... yet we're hungry for more and more and more!!!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

No, a feature every couple of weeks was pretty ideal.

Yes, that kept me very well appeased, even when one of those ended up being a "Presents" every so often.

My point is that if they were to release one a day even, I would still eat up every bit of it!!!  I'd buy a rifftrax a day if that's how fast they were pumping them out........  sure, I don't think I'd want that, as the quality would go severely south...... but still, I can never get too much, only too little.

You are correct, the releases have been lighter. It, however, has nothing to do with scaling back - we're all still working our butts off, just as much as when we release a full-length every few weeks. Work that we hope to roll out very soon. Schedules for everyone getting together to record has an impact as well.

Speaking of Rifftrax Presents - is anything new coming up on that front from the regulars?  And has there been any thought to adding more people under Rifftrax Presents banner?  There is a wealth of talent from the TGWTG.com contributors (Spoony, Cinema Snob, Lord Kat - just to name a few)

Last I saw from Matthew Elliot was that he was waiting for RiffTrax HQ approval for his next one. Hopefully they gave him the go ahead!

I would be extremely happy with more RT Presents to fill the void.

Yes. And there's always a possibility of new people.

I would love to see some of the major iRiffers come under the Rifftrax Presents banner.

So it's Scanners or they have finally decided to do Dune.

Let's take a quick look at the DVD release schedule.

Eclipse still doesn't have a release date. Nor does Airbender. (Or Birdemic.) Iron Man 2 is September 28, so it's probably too early for that. Prince of Persia is the 14th.  Robin Hood is the 21st. Blade Runner: The Final Cut is the 14th as is a collector's edition of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.". I don't really see any of these (Other than IM2) being riffed.  frankly, the only thing really appealing this month is Starcrash, and that's a long shot.

So it looks like something from the back catalog instead.
