The only reverends I can think of (apart from Monks, of course) are the ones in Shining Force that heal, promote and cure your party.  They were awesome.

You forgot saving.  I hereby promote you from mrbasehart to SirBasehart!

Don't a lot of RPGs employ the use of a priest for healing, saving, and curing?

Ah see I'm ordained through the Universal Life Church, I can marry people and everything. :)
I see..

So is that an artists' rendering of you delivering one of your, ah, sermons?

(j/k)

Seriously though, Tripe, if you like, I believe I have in my possession a less blurry version of your current avatar, interested?

#40 - Prince of Persia
(40 Points) 4 of 24 Lists - Highest Ranking - #10 - poopoopeepee

Most people think time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm. You may wonder who I am and why I say this. Sit down, and I will tell you a tale like none you have ever heard...

List of Games:

Prince of Persia
Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame
Prince of Persia 3D
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
Prince of Persia (Again)
Prince of Persia: The Fallen King

Just the facts/Stuff I wiki'd:

There have been a few different Princes of Persia throughout the series:

The original prince seems to be very kind and passionate. He is never shown doing anything bad to others. He is very loyal to the princess. He risks his life for her in every game. He also avoids the belly dancer in prince of Persia 3D. Even so, he is able to kill his opponents without hesitation, showing he has a ruthless side when it comes to protecting his family. He kills a large number of the enemies that killed his parents, for revenge. He also seems to be a master swordsman. He can also fight with a staff, and double blades. It seems he does not like killing however, as in prince of Persia 3D, where he is disgusted by dead bodies of daemons. He seems to have an unlimited stamina, being able to travel through the death infested worlds.

The Sands of Time trilogy Prince is the son of King Sharaman; he is also the younger brother of Malik. Growing up in the palace of Babylon, the Prince was trained as a warrior and acrobat, but was also known for his kindness and good heart, often going out to speak with his people. This is also where the Prince learned his parkour-like skills, his years of playing amongst the street and rooftops, pretending to be "all manner of creatures".

The Prince from the 2008 Prince of Persia is a new character, different from the protagonist of the Sands of Time trilogy. Producer Ben Mattes explained that their goal was to create an accessible action hero. He elaborated, "With Prince of Persia we tried to create more nuanced, layered characters. So our inspiration was anything Harrison Ford has ever done: Indiana Jones, Han Solo. The character Dark Cloud from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon--again, he's kind of rough and tumble, but he's got a soft heart." The character is illustrated as a normal person, not a noble prince. He is an extremely agile and cunning warrior, proving to be an able swordsman.

Trivia:

The Sands of Time Prince is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal, who has also voiced the ocassionally-riffed Frodo in the game, "Lord of the Rings: Conquest".

The New Trilogy's Prince is voiced by Nolan North, who provided the voice for Sideswipe in the video game adaptation of the riffed Revenge of the Fallen.

Pak's Thoughts - The Prince of Persia I remember best is the one from the original trilogy. He wasn't given much story (Your standard "Save the princess!" game), but the control scheme and puzzle style rocked, and the Rotoscoped animation looked extremely cool back then.

#39 - HK-47
(41 Points) 2 of 24 Lists - Highest Ranking - #2 - mrbaseheart

Translation: He requires proof of good faith. We must make a contribution to his people that shows we are not a threat. Shall I blast him now, master?

List of Games:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords
Star Wars: Galaxies

Just the facts/Stuff I wiki'd:

HK-47 was a Hunter-Killer assassin droid and Jedi hunter constructed by the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan shortly after the end of the Mandalorian Wars in 3,960 BBY. (Thats "Before the Battle of Yavin" if you're not a total dork, and Before the first death star blew up if you're not a dork at all!)

HK-47's personality programming caused him to appear misanthropic, bordering on sociopathic, to those who encountered him. The droid enjoyed observing—and often causing—death and destruction, showing complete disregard for bystanders on more than one occasion. The only organics HK-47 displayed any respect for were his masters, although he indirectly caused the death of almost all of them. He was more than willing, on several occasions while serving Revan, to dispose of anyone who annoyed the Jedi. From Revan's point of view, the droid was much too eager to act on his programming, which unnerved the amnesiac Jedi.

HK-47 displayed several unique behavioral tendencies as a result of his programming. HK-47 had a definite sense of pride and considered himself to be superior to all organics and droids except for Revan, who was the only person he seemed to admire—mostly for, what the droid considered, the "creative atrocities" that Revan performed as a Sith Lord. The droid also had a peculiar and perverted idea of the concept of love, which he described as "making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope." He further mused that love was a matter of odds and found it odd that although most "meatbags" could not make such a shot, not many would derive a feeling of love from it. HK-47 had a unique speech trait and vocally prefixed every statement he made with a speech conditional that described the type of statement that it was. For example, if asking a question, he would first say "Query:" before beginning to speak.

Due to his appearance, HK-47, as well as his subsequent models, was often mistaken by many for a protocol droid. He used this to his advantage on more than one occasion, hiding his true nature in order to covertly achieve his goals. HK-47 was a proficient killer, as well as highly innovative, using many varied techniques, most notably when hunting Jedi. The Jedi Exile briefly installed the HK protocol pacifist package, which gave HK-47 a short-lived appreciation for peace and pacifism and led him to a deeper understanding of his prey. This upgrade had to be removed, however, for the simple reason that the droid found himself horrified at the very thought of causing harm to another being and by the fact that his new behavior disconcerted the Exile. When the program was removed, HK-47 strongly suggested the Exile scan any future packages before installing them, as the thought of becoming a pacifist in function seemed to appall the droid.

Trivia:

HK-47 is voiced by Kristoffer Tabori, who hasn't done any voices for Riffed characters yet, but did some voicework for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Pak's Thoughts - I don't care if I'm doing a light-side playthrough. I take HK-47 with me on every mission. His commentary is always so awesome. He's what took the Knights of the Old Republic games past awesome and all the way into immortal classic territory.

#38 - Lazlow
(41 Points) 3 of 24 Lists - Highest Ranking - #4 - rattrap007
Concept Art
That's what you get when on V-Rock: rock 'n roll and me. I'm not sure which I prefer.

List of Games:

Grand Theft Auto III
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Grand Theft Auto IV

Just the facts/Stuff I wiki'd:

Lazlow Jones is a real-life American talk show host who is involved in writing and producing Grand Theft Auto games. He voices a character of the same name in many GTA games; the in-game Lazlow is an insecure, ill-mannered radio host who has nonetheless managed to retain work across the GTA rendition of the United States for over 20 years.

GTA III Era
Lazlow's career began in the early 1980s as an intern for the V-Rock radio station in Vice City. He was the sidekick of then-DJ Cousin Ed. Lazlow quickly moved up the radio hierarchy and became the head DJ of VROCK, exhibiting a 'bad boy' attitude and a greatly inflated ego, the latter of which came back to bite him; he was fired from the radio station shortly after the events of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Lazlow re-emerged in the early 1990's on the national scene as the new host of the syndicated radio show Entertaining America, replacing the original host after his untimely death at the hands of a roid-raging Jack Howitzer. Lazlow lost this job due to alcoholism some time after the events of GTA San Andreas.

Lazlow's next known radio gig was as the host of the popular talk radio station Chatterbox FM in the late '90s, where he took calls from random listeners and interviewed eccentric guests.

GTA IV
In the GTA IV Era, Lazlow lost his Chatterbox FM job, was divorced by his wife, got arrested for peeing at a Liberty City Swingers game in 2002 and developed a taste for exposing himself to old women on the streets; he was arrested for this in 2005. Deciding to try a return to radio, Lazlow raised enough funds in 2008 to start up a new radio station in Algonquin, named Integrity 2.0. His program on the station involves himself exploring Algonquin and interviewing people on the streets; unfortunately, his interviewing manner is poor, and it seems that his fame has waned — the people on the street whom he interviews show disdain for him, and for radio in general (even "Radio 2.0", as Lazlow calls it). During the show he makes a references to his real-life show, The Lazlow Show. He is always introducing Integrity 2.0 as "The Lazlow Show," also, he makes a comment, "...when sixteen year olds could drink and listen to metal music, you could smoke in bars, and get into high speed accidents..." which is a reference to the intro of The Lazlow Show in late 2006.

Lazlow is sponsored by ZiT, a program that will identify songs playing on the radio; he "presents" the company's automated greeting messages but the ZiT adverts still make fun of his need to be in the public eye, "... Our needy, washed up celebrity"

By 2008, Lazlow is forty-six, having been born in 1962. Note that the storylines of the GTA III Era and GTA IV are not related. In the two DLCs (The Lost and Damned & The Ballad of Gay Tony), ZiT has dropped sponsorship for him and he has taken a haitus to find a sponor for his show. He apparenty got sponsorship from his step-father, who runs a funeral service called "Issac Hammerstein & Daughter's Funeral Service". Lazlow apparently does not like his step-father, making fun of his profession and his daughters (which Lazlow describes as ugly and obese) and called his step-father a cockface on radio.

He also has a LCPD record but the LCPD don't know his surname, claiming that the mystery of his surname, in the GTA world, is still unsolved and claiming the stupidity of the LCPD, as they never asked Lazlow what is his surname is.

Trivia:

Lazlow has appeared in the most games in the GTA Series. He has appeared in every game in both the Grand Theft Auto III era and Grand Theft Auto IV era excluding Grand Theft Auto Advance as a radio DJ.

Pak's Thoughts - Not only a character from a game I've never played, but a character who never directly appeared in a game I've never played. You guys don't make it easy. :^) Ahh, but it's been fun and educational sifting through the web for information on these characters I don't know. Before this list is done I think I'll know about every character that gamer-law requires me to.

#37 - Little Mac

"Help! Doc!!" - Little Mac
"Join the Nintendo fun club today! Mac." - Doc Louis

List of Games:

Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!
Punch Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
Super Punch Out!!
Fight Night Round 2
Captain Rainbow
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Punch Out!!

Just the facts/Stuff I wiki'd:

Little Mac is the playable protagonist in the NES and Wii versions of Punch-Out!!. Little Mac is known by fans for his jumping uppercut called the "Star Punch", so called because stars are needed to use it, which has a greater deal of strength than the normal punches. It may knock out his opponents depending on how much energy they have left.

He is supposedly 17 years old, 4'8" (5'7" in the Wii version of Punch-Out!!), 107 lb (49 kg), and hailing from the Bronx, New York. He is interested in getting into the World Video Boxing Association, which has a long history of rookie boxers joining the ranks in an effort to become world champions. He traveled to New York City in hopes of searching for someone that could train him. He met 200 different trainers and was rejected 200 times. It was not until he met Jerome "Doc" Louis, who was a former heavyweight champion in his own right, then he began his journey to the top of the World Circuit. Doc gives Little Mac advice between rounds in each game.

Trivia:

Little Mac is 107 points. As I'm sure you all know, the boxing-themed Pokemon, Hitmonchan, is Pokemon #107? Coincidence?

Little Mac is short becausse Nintendo couldn't get the ol' NES to use the same wire-frame transparency that was used in the arcade. They had to cut down on his height to get him out of the way.

Pak's Thoughts - My very first video game all-nighter was with Punch Out!!. Well not ALL nighter, but 3 AM was unheard of back when I was as young as I was at the time. I had a friend over and we played Punch Out!! all night. We got as far as Soda Popinski before we were forced to call it a night. More than any other game, I can still pick up Punch Out!! and just play it for hours, and I still can't make it past the second version of Bald Bull. Little Mac, to me, has become the symbol of the spirit of hard-core gaming. (Although some much harder-core characters lay ahead....)

#36 - Midna
(45 Points) 3 of 24 Lists - Highest Ranking - #2 - Invader Quirk

Light and shadow can't mix, as we all know. But... never forget that there's another world bound to this one.

List of Games:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Smash Brothers

Just the facts/Stuff I wiki'd:

Midna, is a character in Twilight Princess. She is a resident of the Twilight Realm and a descendant of the ancient Twili people. At first she seems to be a strange, dark creature with an agenda of her own and little regard for Link, but she ends up changing her attitude towards those who are willing to help her.

Throughout the course of the game, Midna portrays several abilities both in the Light and Twilight worlds. The most notable one is that she is able to warp Link through the portals of the Twilight at any given time (provided that Link can transform into a wolf without anyone noticing him). She seems to do this with ease, and is capable of it with any kind of object or person: at one point, Midna warps a bridge and a giant rock from Death Mountain in order to help Link during his quest. Another ability seen in the beginning of Twilight Princess is the capability of walking through walls and other objects, as witnessed when she easily disintegrates and reintegrates as she gets through Link's cell in Hyrule Castle. Moreover, she can easily change her appearance and transform into other people: Midna changes her appearance to look exactly like Ilia and Colin as she reminds Link of who else he needs to rescue.

After Link gathers a sword and a shield for Midna to use, she tries to use them, but is displeased by their power, so she vanishes them into the Twilight and keeps them for Link until they are needed. She can also hide in the light world as Link's shadow while he's in his human form. Once he turns into Wolf Link, she can use her hair to pull switches or make a power field around her for Wolf Link to attack enemies within that range.

These powers are just some of the many other abilities that Midna seems to possess, another being that she easily frees Wolf Link from his chain and imprisonment by simply concentrating a small ball of energy between her hands.

Trivia:

When Link is in wolf form but doesn't have Midna riding on his back, his shadow's appearance indicates that she is still riding him. It's also noted that if you're in front of a mirror (such as the one in Link's basement), or anything reflective (like the ice in the Snowpeak Ruins) Midna will have no reflection, possibly because she is a shadow being.

Midna is voiced by Akiko K?moto, who also voiced Cammy, Jun and Juri in Street Fighter Zero 3.

Pak's Thoughts - And I'm reminded of yet another game I really need to put some hours into. I'm going to do SO much gaming once this list is over. :^) Midna's sassy, impish behavior makes her a WAY better traveling companion than ol' Navi.

Pak-Man

And that's your 5 for today. I've caught up with the writing-ahead that I did, so I'm going light on bonus entries until I get a good head start again. If I get the next 5 written soon enough, I'll try to get a bonus entry in tonight.

mrbasehart

The relationship between Midna and Link is easily the best thing about Twilight Princess.

And I love HK-47.  He had a whole sub-plot quest cut out from KotoR 2 that is actually pretty cool  - you even do a solo mission in control of him.

Invader_quirk

Yay, Midna! Only the 2nd from my list so far... Can't wait for the next batch (and bonuses).

Johnny Unusual

I loved the classic Prince of Persia.  My sister loved it too and insisted that the main character should be named Damien.  I don't know why.

Also, yay Little Mac.  That's a fun character to step into the shoes of.  The newest Punch Out game is tons of fun and it's great to play the boxing underdog.

Also, yay Lazlow.  The radio stations are one of the best things about the GTA games and Lazlow is a hell of a host.

FLOCK of RABID SHEEP?!?!

The Force Unleashed isn't a bad action game, but it doesn't really compare with the KotoR games.

I very nearly put DJ Atomika (SSX /Burnout Series) on my list, but decided that was a bit too geeky, even for me. Grammy award winning artist Veteran Child (Saint's Row 2 and voiced by Neil Patrick Harris) was another dark horse there.
