Born in the UK; lived in the US for the last 18 years.

I've been a fan of MST3K since being trapped indoors in 1991(in Atlanta Georgia) by excessive heat with a friend and several of his crazy buddies with only videos of MST3K and unlimited quantities of cool frosty ones. And some beer, too. Ooooooh it were terrible... ;D

I now have two sons: both of them dedicated MST3K and RiffTRax fans, who I took to the "Reefer Madness" show in Syracuse last Thursday and they were the two youngest there by a long chalk.

I spend way too much time at the Michael Moorcock (fantasy author) messageboard: http://www.multiverse.org/fora and also do guitar tab for the band Hawkwind (who have been mentioned in at least three episodes of MST3K).

Questions:

1/ Do Mike N and the team show up and respond to questions?

2/ Is any of them a Hawkwind fan?

[Afraid to ask, but here goes....] 3/ What's with the "Cinematic Titanic" thing?

Cheers!

Hey, I was at the show in Syracuse too!

UncleDes

Please tell me you weren't the guy at the back, in the orange windcheater biting his toenails and mumbling about voles.

No that was me: sorry! 8)

No. Mike Nelson hasn't come to the forums in years, neither does Kevin. Bill used to be regular, but he hasn't doen anything here in several months. I guess once they got on Twitter, they use that for fan communication. They don't even do anything on the blog anymore.

I have no idea. Just because they reference it doesn't necessarily mean they are a fan.

Cinematic Titanic is the riffing group that most of the rest of Best Brains are involved in (Trace, Mary Jo, Joel, Josh, Frank). They concentrate on doing live shows (not simulcast like Rifftrax Live) riffing old bad B movies like MST3K used to do.

I must have glossed over that the first time, but I think I was actually sitting right in front of you. There were definitely two young kids behind me. Were you sitting all the way in the back? And did you see the creepy loner looking guy with the scraggly beard....because, err, he kinds creeped me out too...and was in no way actually me.

Welcome to the forum.

Thank you.

Except that Hawkwind is such an obscure, little-known band in the US that 3 references to them would seem to indicate a personal preference (e.g.: all the constant Frank Zappa references) - agree?
