I haven't decided if I want to go.  The novelty has worn off, and going to a movie theater on a Thursday is never particularly enjoyable.

I can understand about the novelty part of your statement but what makes going to a theater on Thursday so rough?

Personally my favorite time to go see a movie is the last showing on a Monday night of a movie that has been playing for 4 weeks. My wife and I usually get the theater to ourselves. No  babies, no teens, no one talking. If there is a heaven it would be like that!

Enjoyment is dampened by the thought of going to work the next day.

Better than what happens with me. Whenever I go to the movies I typically have to work immediately after. The joys of working overnight  ::)

I don't understand.  If your work schedule means you may have to go to work immediately after a movie, how is that a joy?  Seems like it would be the precise opposite.

One thing I really like about the live events is seeing what other Rifftrax fans look like.

The people at the first two I went to all looked pretty clueless....like they were seeing this kind of thing for the first time.

Of course, that was back in Georgia...   ;)

By "this kind of thing" I assume you mean the moving pictures.

Did you submit riffs for the movie?

Since we're on the subject, I actually like seeing movies with a crowd.  If I want to watch a movie alone I can do that at home.  And I don't live in douchey cities apparently because I've never had those horrible experiences so many other people talk about such as eternal texting from other people, other people talking too loud, etc.  So what I get is the herd joy of experiencing something with a lot of other people.  For instance, there's a great charge that comes when you're watching Inception and at the end of the movie when it fades to black 100 people around you all gasp the same time you do.  LOL  That's cool.

Unfortunately, I live in a town where people apparently cannot distinguish the difference from watching a movie at home and in a theater, and, as a result, they'll just chat away all through the movie. It's one thing if the whole audience reacts; that's a great part of the whole experience, but when people are just making comments or asking questions or TAKING CELL PHONE CALLS, that's a different story. I got so sick of having to "sshhhh" people (or worse), I just stopped going to movies for the most part. It's a shame, because I love the big screen experience. I still go occasionally, but mostly weekday matinees whenever I get a chance (which is very rare) or at night right before a movie is about to leave a theater.

You know what would be great? If they installed headphone jacks in the seats!!!
