That's really neat they're shooting on locale for the zombie-ravaged Atlanta footage...  :)

Alas, no, but I know a few folks...

beenie, you'll have to keep us posted!  :)

And here's some neat stuff from Kirkman himself on the upcoming AMC series...

Aside from the color/black & white contrasting, I found this to be the most interesting...

Now we will probably eventually see The Governor because that is a big part of the comic book. So, there's cool stuff like that that will definitely be making into the show if we continue on, but it's not going to follow the comic book story for story. So, it's probably not going to really catch up to it and hopefully it will go in a completely new direction, so that it will be two separate stories that people can enjoy together.

I'm very anxious to see how this all plays out in fall, and I have books 9 & 10 on order.

I can't decide if I'm more excited over a TV series of Walking Dead, CoCo's return to the airwaves or Futurama starting back up on Comedy Central.

Aaaarrrg!!! I hate TV! I shouldn't be this happy over TV happenings!

It's a toss up between "Game of Thrones" and "Walking Dead" for TV adaption I'm most excited about.

I have mixed feelings, but all of them are generally positive mixed feelings.

In an interview with Kirkman he revealed that though it will start out similarly, it won't be a direct scene for scene adaptation.  I think I would actually like a scene for scene adaptation, but he makes a valid point that it will allow for new twists and surprises and such that wouldn't necessarily be there in a straight 100% adaptation.  What do you guys think?

Me, I'm still very excited.  Can't wait for the first preview.

Personally, an alternate story arc would keep it interesting for me. I mean...I already know what happened in the comic and though it would be cool to see it played out in live action (well, not all of it, but most of it) scene for scene, seeing it in live action at all is a novelty. Novelties wear out over time. Keeping the general theme of the characters and story comic accurate keeps it Walking Dead, but adding new story arcs and changes here and there will keep it new enough to be interesting all over again.

It's a nice thought that I could be watching and then be surprised that a character who died in a particular scene in the comics survives in the TV show.

Certainly there are a lot f things that you can't put on AMC (coughGovernorcough).  But I'm not so much worried about whether it will be a direct adaptation as capturing the feel of the book.  I was kind of hoping they would do the series in black and white.

If the television-series approaches that indispensable moment in the book run, Kirkman did elaborate, in last month's AICN interview, that the Governor will be there for the ride...scaled down, obviously. Nonetheless, the sickest fuck in the series will be there

I'm curious as to where they'll be at the closing of this 6-episode run. I'm betting they'll wrap it up w/ the crew overlooking the prison for which would be picturesque if its renewed for a 2nd season. Oh, and I'm all caught up, the Hunters' storyline was jolting on a few levels. Good stuff.

OK, everyone has been talking about if they'll have black and white on the DVD or something.  You realize that on your TV, you can set the colour to black and white.  DO THAT!  IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL!

  THANK YOU!!! Holy crap, I've always thought I was the only one who thought that.
